Also yeah I have never felt more dissonance between myself and the characters in a game than I did towards the end of this game. I just wanted them to stop, for it to be over. Emotionally exhausting haha and it preoccupied my mind for so long after finishing it, thinking of the parallels between characters

 

Y'all think they will try to stretch the post-Seattle/Santa Barbara/Rattler section of the game into it's own season? It's pretty short.

I don’t know if it’s cuz I only played part of 1 before watching and have played all of 2, but something just feels off to me this season. Doesn’t feel like the same show to me as season 1. Cringe every time the therapist is on screen.

 

y'know how we celebrated easter+4/20 by playing golf? anyway, may the fourth be with you

 

I could see it being a separate epilogue special. Basically a movie. Don’t think it would make sense to make a full season for it.

Well we are in uncharted territory now, lol. Quite a few changes!

I really enjoyed it. I didn’t mind the changes and I was glad to get some early background on Isaac. Will be interesting to see how this new character that Isaac spared comes into play. Although he’ll probably get killed by a Seraphite in some gruesome way lol.

 

Ok immediate thoughts:

- The entire fight sequence leading into the tunnel was quite tense, I was shocked that they had them kill actual humans that quickly. I expected them to stealth their way around that group.
- The tunnel sequence was amazing…felt like actual stakes there, and the way they had Ellie save Dina was a nice change, and for me it worked.

As for Dina’s confession and everything that followed…



I needed a little more out of that scene! I think Dina went a little too quickly from “What the fuck?” to “Actually, I believe you, let’s get to business.”

 

God I miss that show even though I got completely lost like halfway through lol

 

SPORES

 

I thought it worked. They had been best friends for years and Dina had pushed any romantic feelings aside. With the kiss she let it become a possibility for her and then all of the sudden she thought she was going to lose it.

I had friendships where I was just really wanted to be friends with them and admired them….well it turns out I was just gay!

 

Haven’t seen the E5 teaser yet but seen a tweet saying they tease the rat kings clicking in it lol

 

also this was one of my favorite episodes of the entire show

 

Yeah there’s a line about the being no rats in the hospital basement as well.

 

Getting to see this episode while knowing how it ends for Ellie and Dina hurts my heart lol

 

Ep 5 teaser has me fucking HYPE

 

aw, no fuck fedra gate? no looking for gas for generators? hah, they're really good at cutting out all the unnecessary gameplay fluff. and they're really good at their one-to-one scene adaptations, the music store was perfect. the tv station and subway tunnel really captured the tension of the game. and they're really good with adding stuff for side characters, the scenes with Isaac really fleshed him out as a character already.

when it comes to things they change, though... i was hoping to like the way they handled the relationship stuff, i really was, but it just did not work for me. maybe it's bc i'm gay? idk, hopefully her confession felt validating for the viewers out there who are actually bi to feel represented. to me it just felt heavy-handed and exposition-y. and the making out felt abrupt and un-earned. where's the slow burn everyone told me to wait for? none of this retroactively fixed the problems i had with the "you're gay, i'm not" line. maybe once the season is over i can look back and go, oh okay, now i see why they made the decisions they made. but right now, week to week, i'm losing faith in the writers more and more with each episode. they're so lucky they got Bella and Isabela for these roles, they're doing all the heavy lifting

also, regarding the teaser... really? you went through all that to make sure Ellie got bit in front of Dina instead of breathing spores because you didn't have spores in the first season but you're gonna introduce spores now?

 

Damn I hope we do get a Prophet flashback eventually

 

Very good episode. So glad they put Take On Me in the show
