She better be lying. If they don’t give us that scene in the finale I will riot.

I feel like they’re holding out on all flashbacks for a full episode of them. That’s where we’ll get Future Days, the museum, and the SLC confrontation.

I think they might save the final conversation for a potential season 4.

Yeah I hope we get all the flashbacks in a full episode dedicated to a "final" send-off to Pedro.....I'm sure people would rather have their last memories of him be from the museum and happy Joel rather than what we have lol.

Feel like it’s a lie just so she could rush out of the therapy session. Just like this episode established, “Ellie is a liar” lmao

I think it is highly likely that they filmed the finale sequence this season and it will be the final scene of season 3. I just hope the audience sticks with the show to get there. This episode pumped the brakes a little, and frankly was not the strongest episode in the series, so I wonder if people who were watching for Pedro will use this as an excuse to jump ship.

Based on the teaser for next week, it looks like we get Isaac’s backstory, the subway chase/horde, finding the theater, and Dina finding out Ellie is immune.

  9. changes
-Tommy not leaving before them could have interesting repercussions, at this point it's too early to tell if this is a good thing. nice role reversal that now he's gonna be constantly trying to catch up to them rather than vice versa
-Dina said she's not gay and that she's back together with Jesse??? kinda implies she's doing this bc of Joel and not bc she's devoted to Ellie, idk how i feel about that. kinda recontextualizes the farm, like she ends up there with Ellie only out of circumstance. or mayyybe the show's just taking it slow between them.

    additions
-council meeting was cool. Seth is somehow somewhat likable, which is weird
-feels kinda off showing the WLF/Seraphite stuff before we get to Abby's pov, but as with them introducing Abby's motivations early, I trust their decision

    omissions
-kinda missed having Maria talk with them at Joel's

definitely think Ellie was lying about her last interaction with Joel just to get out of therapy. I've liked Gail's scenes so far, but it feels like we're getting them at the cost of seeing less Maria.

from the preview it looks like instead of spores Ellie's just gonna get bit?
also, looks like we're getting Isaac's backstory, a lot earlier than i anticipated
exploring Downtown Seattle in the game was really fun but didn't move the story forward very much, i guess it makes sense we'll be seeing less of that

That was such a strange intro to the Scars

  11. Actually I guess it makes sense that Dina and Jesse got back together in the three months Ellie was in the hospital, explains why Dina isn't already three months pregnant by the time they leave for Seattle

I think introducing the seraphites as a religious group who gets slaughtered by the wolves makes total sense. What Ellie and Dina found will only paint the wolves as even worse villains who deserve what’s coming to them.

I liked that guy at the council meeting spelling out the entire moral of the story about the dehumanization of revenge lol

  15. Curious to see how them heading out before Tommy changes things. A lot of the game is trying to catch up to Tommy, so I wonder if that'll be reversed now.

yeah it just lays out how most normal people would already understand this but gamers would think it was like innovative and revelatory lol

Liked the back half of the ep a lot. Not gonna lie the hospital stuff was kinda clunky imo and also just the shots of them rebuilding Jackson looked off. Like they seemed to be doing alright morale wise for a devastating infected attack 3 months prior. However once Ellie gets to Joel’s the ep flourishes. I love what Craig and co are doing to expand the characters and universe. Gail, the baseball game, Seraphites etc.

When they visit Joel’s grave it looked visually stunning too. Great scene. The Seraphites also getting a more sympathetic intro than the game is also interesting but since it’s from Ellie/Dinas pov that makes sense. Isabella and the actor who played Seth did such a good job here! The casting for this show is so on point.

the preview for next week! So it sure looks like Alanna Ubach is playing the prophet in an Isaac flash back?! Pretty cool if true. Also it looks like we’re getting the TV/News station. There is a shot which looks to be in the office area of that section.

I like how they are making Ellie and Dina's relationship more of a slow burn, makes sense for the show for sure. I also get introducing the seraphites early because I definitely think they are going to come into play next week for the Isaac stuff.

The subway sequence looks like it's going to be so good, I can't wait for next week.

  19. I wonder if show-only peeps thought there was even the slightest chance Jackson was gonna send sixteen soldiers to Seattle. Knowing what happens beforehand kinda takes away a bit of the suspense of the town hall scene

  20. Some guy on tiktok said the tent scene doesn't even pass the bechdel test and I was like damn

I actually liked the tent scene because it repurposes the kiss dialogue and then helps set up the twist for Dina without casting too much suspicion for a non-gamer. Bechdel or not, I think it worked kinda well where it was placed in the episode.

  23. 2nd playthrough update. Abby Seattle Day 1

Didn't know Ashly without the E played Mel until credits rolled, now I can't unhear it
Manny seems like a cool dude, like Abby's equivalent of Jesse. They kinda died the same way too
I was in such a rush the first time I didn't really look around while at the stadium. It's massive but mostly you just see people eating, cooking food, growing food, or doing laundry, and I think seeing the domestic side of things is an interesting reintroduction to the Wolves from Abby's pov (I get that the show is currently Ellie's pov so the Wolves already come off as monsters--and they are--but the Seraphites getting massacred as they're trying to escape portrays them as way too sympathetic when they're the ones stringing people up everywhere)
Oh, infinite crafting on pipe bombs? Imma be such a menace
Black and white filter with commentary on continues to be a very interesting experience
I know I'm supposed to care about Abby's friends but I mostly just wanna get to Yara and Lev already
