Just started playing as Abby after Jesse gets killed and am in her room at the stadium. Pretty accurate representation of CenturyLink I wasn’t expecting, haha

It gets even worse than that... Some people think Neil Druckman made Manny look like him, and then had Manny spit on Joel's dead body because Niel Druckman wants to spit on white males because he's a self hating loser. It's insane the stretches that people make.

Anyway, I absolutely loved it and while I won't say it's perfect, it really got to me emotionally. I managed to hold it together till the very end and when the end music started I cried and then felt bad that I was a 33 year old guy crying over a video game but whatever... not the first time media has stirred such strong feelings in me and won't be the last. I've been thinking about the overall story a lot since and I want to dive back into it, but need a few weeks or so before I do that. I also binge played it on little sleep so I want to go back into it fresher and play it in chunks over a month or so and really digest it. I went slow through it (took me 30 hours... I died a lot trying to remain stealthy) but I still feel like i rushed it. It's amazing how depressing it can feel to know that you only get to absorb pieces of art for the first time once. I'm happy I remained relatively spoiler free.

  6. I didn't mess around with them myself, but I appreciate all the accessibility and difficulty options they give you for this game. It also makes it easier to recommend to people who you think would enjoy it but don't really play a lot of video games.

The four hours I played yesterday were maybe my favourite of the game so far. I thought it was ending for a second but it's not and I'm very excited to see where it goes now.

Some really incredible moments so far though.

Just finished on hard mode at 29 hours/5 minutes. 194 collectibles.

I will gather my thoughts but a masterpiece that I will continue to appreciate as myself and the game ages.

The game’s been lingering in my mind since I beat it. It was lengthy but I’m almost already down for another playthrough. Great way to end the gen

I have seen a small amount of complaints that I feel are entirely valid and otherwise a whole lot of hate that I feel is coming from a place of borderline sociopathy and even outright bigotry (and it doesn’t really shock me when the gaming community’s been reared on the likes of someone like say PewDiePie). this game feels like a litmus test lmao.

i will say that when i first heard *that* storytelling choice, it wasn’t my favorite decision, only bc of attachment to that character from the first game. but the way it was handled, written and the way the story progresses from there was so masterfully done. feels like most the people still mad actually haven’t played the game lol.

I can’t bring up one idea that would serve as a better inciting incidentfor the game. Otherwise we’d still be going to dances and doing patrols in Jackson.

i mean, there are definitely a handful of characters that i think would have a similar effect, but they went with by far the most effective choice

plus, like, do you really wanna be playing as a 50+ year old Joel lol

This will be a fun thing to watch take off

The infected boss in Ground Zero with Abby is called the Rat King. A wild moment.

Yes to the spoiler question. But I’m 100 percent content with the way the game went anyways.

I really can't think of another time I actually cared about spoilers in a video game this much. I remember as a kid holding player's guides in my hand and skipping to the end to see what the final boss would look like in games like Ocarina of Time or Banjo-Kazooie.

Take out the bad-faith arguments - pretty cool that a video game can make you feel a wide range of emotions, think and want to discuss with your friends the story elements much more than many movies that are released.

I'm sure there are other examples of games I haven't played (Mass Effect, Bioshock, etc) but I feel like Naughty Dog runs circles around these other gaming studios when it comes to blockbuster storytelling

All the Sony studios have upped the narrative game this generation which seemed to be brought on by the first TLOU. Can’t wait to see how all these games react to Part 2.

Yup! PS5 has big potential because of it. I know God of War and Spider-Man were directly influenced by what TLOU did

    Just beat it.

Some great/wonderful moments. The acting is great and from a technical standpoint it excels most the time.

However, I did not like the pacing, some areas felt unnecessarily padded and there were a couple things that just felt out of place or didn't match the tone/world set.

I think scores can be a little ridiculous, but I'd probably put it around an 8. It didn't shatter all expectations of what a video game can be like I've heard from an abundance of sites and reviewers, but I do think if you enjoyed the first one, you'd most likely enjoy this one.

I felt the pacing complaints until I realized my feelings towards Abby were starting to soften, and then I just enjoyed the ride. I feel like I’d have them less so maybe on my second run but idk.

I gotta say tho I really can’t think of another game that comes even close to making me feel the things this game has, the amount I wanted to brutally kill Abby and co. vs just how much it wrecked me to actually do it when the time came.... idk that I’ve ever experienced an evolution quite like it. it may not be breaking new ground, but my frame of reference for games is p small and I would not consider myself a “gamer” by any real meaningful definition, so I don’t really know or care if it is or not. I just know it broke new ground *for me* and that’s all I really care about ultimately.

Plus Abbys section has a lot of the best moments in the game.

I think the narrative/story is where this game is taking things to the next level and doing something unique and special. Which is funny because that's what a lot of people online are saying is awful. Crazy people.

I just finished Abby Day 1.How much longer do you think I have until I beat it? I want to time it so that I can beat the last few hours of the game in one sitting.
