That was my first thought, it was just going to be too much of a pain in the ass to film with the masks or something.
Looks like they've taken that video down too. Was just a promo for the official after show podcast with Troy Baker, with a blurred version of the opening credits in the background.
TLJ syndrome is so on the mark. Usually when the loud minority cause such a ruckus, I know beforehand it's gonna be something I like or enjoy. I didn't read spoilers when the game came out but was aware of the discourse amongst "fans" and saw the outrage and had a feeling it was something good. And having best part 2 recently, I was right. It was even better than I had imagined. That's the point of the story, the message it gets across. Ellie's revenge only continues the cycle of violence, because once she exacts revenge, someone else will want revenge on her, rinse repeat. Fuck druckmann for having us play as Joel's killer, then playing as Joel, then playing half the game as Abby once again. That was pure genius and hit like a damn truck. God that was genius of him lol. But yeah keeping plot details under wraps and keeping trolls quiet for season 2 is next to impossible.
Vocal minorities of angry nerds screaming online can be very funny because of how wrong they can be about what every day people care about. They will throw around one of the dumbest terms "objectively bad" as if that means anything to describe something they didn't like thinking everyone in the world holds this opinion. But nope, causals that saw The Last Jedi just kinda felt that "whatever i saw a new star war" and forgot about it, where as this group allows it to haunt their dreams every single day of their lives (Also "Ruin Johnson" can't stop catching Ws. He made one of the most successful films in history, then because Disney couldn't get their shit together about theatrical star wars he built his own franchise from the ground up, resurrected a genre, and gave the current James Bond his second iconic role) In spite of them, The Last Of Us Part II was a huge money maker for Sony, and I bet the second season does well (assuming season one is actually as good as its being hyped to being).
100% on RT after 28 reviews. I'm sure it'll go down at least a little, but it's nice to see it's off to a strong start.
I am staying away from any of the reviews, as the tiny bits I saw, seemed pretty spoiler heavy (in my opinion, but I consider most everything a spoiler even something as simple as describing an opening shot, or a scene). I also spend too much time arguing on the dumb troll forum on reddit. The main one annoys me a little bit too, but I've been so hyped for this, that I've been seeking out every little morsel. Time to stop that, and just wait it out now ha. I have a great weekend planned. A concert Friday night, NFL playoffs Saturday, a hike Sunday morning and then IT'S TIME!! The only person I want to like it really is my wife, I want her to get hooked and invested as I enjoy when we look forward to a show. (We both loved rings of power/Andor and were both meh on WOT but enjoyed the discussions and waiting) Despite how many times she's seen me play the game, she has absorbed remarkably little. She actually asked is Joel Abby's dad? :)
as someone who has never played a single minute of any of the games, i am very much looking forward to this one.
I hope Pedro and Bella get all the accolades and recognition for this. Pedro at this point has become a pretty big star and appreciated for his acting but I'd love to see Bella get there too, absolutely loved her in GOT. Such a good Lyana Mormont, most badass character in a show of badass characters and she did it so well. I still think it's kind of funny that my first exposure to Pedro was his role in the USA Network Burn Notice Sam Axe tv movie haha
Yeah reviews definitely sound good. I would probably recommend that anyone hasn't played the game avoid reading them because they give quite a bit away of the early story.
Couldn’t be happier reading some of these reviews. Sounds like they knocked it out of the park. Makes me laugh cause tools on the internet used to claim that Last of Us had a good story for a game but would be mediocre as a film or tv show.
Hearing that the reviews are great got me even more hype. Just bought the PS5 remaster and am gonna try to play through it before the premiere. Haven't played it in years.
All of these reviews and consensus that this is amazing has me so hype. It's good to see credible reviews out before this inevitably gets review bombed 10 minutes into its premiere in a few days.
