I feel like they purposefully wrote and directed this episode like a Nicholas Sparks movie (note: never seen a Nicholas Sparks movie) set in the reality of the Last of Us. The roof jumping even felt like something in a filmed musical on a sound stage and the overall tone seemed more respectful to teenage love and heightened YA romance feels than I remember the DLC’s tone being. It was cute, sappy, and also very sad. Looking forward to what should be a batshit final two episodes.
who (is the one who directs/writes the movies where teenage lovers overcome terminal illness to share love for a fleeting moment)
Tbf, having read or watched nothing from either, pretty sure it’s the same thing just one writes about teenagers and one about adults lol
Y’all a bunch of turds sometimes. The latest episode was slightly uncharacteristic with that extended rooftop jumping scene and corny early-2000s sounding music overlay… so yes I can see Mints parallel between that and a Nicholas Sparks movie.
Just watched the 7 episodes in a few days and now all caught up. Last episode was still good and Bella is probably the reason it was so good. Her “discovering the mall” was just too pure and too good.
I liked the last few episodes but this was a step back. Once I saw the preview for this episode I knew exactly what to expect. Kinda boring. We could all infer that she lost someone close to her at some point in her past, considering there's a zombie apocalypse currently happening, and I was hoping that if we were gonna do the elle backstory episode, then we would get way more than that.
