The wait for the next two episodes is going to suck ass lol. But yeah next week’s preview looks so good. Shout out OG Joel Troy Baker as one the supporting roles in that group. Guess Ashley Johnson’s appearance is definitely going to be in the finale then, can’t wait to see how it gets incorporated into the show.
Episode was good, I think it was the perfect amount of scene time with Joel/Ellie and Ellie/Riley for the time they had. storm Reid rules
Question for the game players in regards to the end of this episode. Ellie mentioned previously that she’s had to use a gun before. I’m taking it that she unfortunately ends up needing to use it on Riley, but is that something you see or is it implied like it seems to be here? I don’t mind that we don’t see it as I get where it’s going and I don’t even know that I want to see it given how sweet their relationship was portrayed as here. Kind of like just ending where we did with them huddled together and Riley’s line about continuing on.
Haven’t posted in here before but for me (non-game player) that was among the best episodes so far. This show is killing me
So... good episode and ill have more thoughts later, but i feel like there are a lot of rules that arent being adhered. Like episode 2 and the capital building... safe to untag here if caught up... no game/future spoilers how come there was just 1 infected here and him waking up didnt send the signal to others in the area like in that episode? That mechanic was used basically once and has been ignored since. I get getting rid of spores but this replacement mechanic is kind of poorly utilized
Yeah Joel kind of accepting the love Ellie has for him there after shoving her away and telling her to leave and then laying there to accept his fate was a great little scene
They have to be attached to the fungal "internet" cables and (according to Joel and Tess' estimation in epsiode 2) within a mile or so to alert others. This thing had detached itself from its connection to the fungal growths on the wall/floor and was killed in a place where it wasn't connecting to any other fungus to send the message. At least that's how I understand it.
DLC spoilers since i just finished (no future spoilers) in the game, Joel is hidden behind a locked store front for an ice cream store in the local mall. You're searching for supplies to stich joel up. The mall is a mix of infected and human enemies. It ends with finding first aid in a crashed military chopper. This segment is cut with the Riley and Ellie scenes from the show, almost to a T. The only thing cut out is a water gun fight, and a brick throwing game. The picture booth, arcade and carousel are all featured. The arcade game is broken, so Riley talks Ellie through a battle, and you play with her eyes closed, imaging the fight. Its a very cute, touching moment. The very end of the DLC is the same with 'lets be poetic and loose our minds together' line. In neither version do you see how Riley dies and how Ellie is rescued by Marlene. In the present story its almost the same too, DLC ends with Joel shaky, but alive.
my wife is actually in boston this weekend ill ask her to check every mall for accuracy and report back
Haven't watched yet but I'm hearing from my friends that general consensus is this is the weakest ep so far? Still good, but not the best?
