I don't see any reason why we can't complete the whole first games arc. it's not a long story so even with it fleshed out, you could do beginning to end in 10 episodes. It's also such an amazing ending that to not get there, and have that be part of the 2nd season would be an awful choice to me right off the bat.
The set and clicker designs look fucking awesome. Can't wait to cry like a baby during the Sarah scenes.
I thought I read that they said they wouldn't cover the entire Part One in the first season, could be wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if Ellie isn't even in the first episode if it's all on outbreak day, and they're adding a bunch of cut content/Left Behind stuff. Seems like a lot to cover in 10 episodes
Looks awesome. The Ellie casting still feels a bit weird - no offense to the actress, just not an obvious choice to me. But I’m excited.
I had heard the opposite but do think ending with the University would be a hell of a cliffhanger and a good cut off point.
Cautiously optimistic, overall look for the show feels kinda off for some reason but Bella seems like a great fit
I’m not 100% sold on the Ellie casting either. She was great in Game Of Thrones but I already have such a strong visual of Ellie from the game I’ll have to overcome!
I'm not sure I've ever seen an adaptation like this look more accurate, holy shit this looks incredible
Having just finished the game for the first time, this looks so good. I can’t wait for it. also…MELANIE LYNSKEY
Usually around winter I replay the first one (and now the second) but I might have to get on that early.
I'll spoiler this for non-game fans but I think we will get to the end of the season as the last line of the trailer, 'save who you can save' is basically the finale. Joel doesn't trust or care about anyone at the end but Ellie, and saves who he can save to keep his personal world going. I think it's a pretty neat nod to the ending that without knowing it, means absolutely nothing and is spoiler free.
It is not. Druckman also mentioned some cut content from the game is in the show as well as more backstory for some characters. With all of that and some Left Behind stuff I can see the finale being in the Winter section.
I think there’s too much to cover to fit the whole game in one season and losing Pedro for season 2 isn’t ideal that said I don’t know where you could split season one and not have an awkward season 2 (ending season 1 after winter would mean all the hospital stuff would be in the first chunk of season 2, also awkward)
