Do you guys see entertainment conglomerates (WB, Disney, Netflix, etc.) capitalizing on the already strong (and what probably will be) long term success of this series?

As in buying up heaps of video games properties and trying to do them right? I imagine we may even get some reboots of things that haven't worked in the past.

 

Unfortunately they won't learn to make adaptations that closely follow the source material, but rather will think "we need to make something feel like The Last of Us."

 

Netflix is apparently doing a Gears movie and animated series....really hoping they don't fuck it up. Would prefer HBO had it tbh

Would love a well done version of TLOZ. Don't ask me why but I can see James Cameron doing it well visually, just not story/screenplay-wise. You'd need game consultants on that side of things.

Sony will be making Destiny universe tv show/movie at some point after acquiring Bungie last year

 

I'm only vaguely familiar with the Zelda lore (played the NES & N64 games a long time ago) and I feel like they would make for an awesome movie or series if handled with respect, but for some reason I just get very worried that they would get the MTV Shannara show / Legend Of The Seeker show / 2007's The Seeker: The Dark is Rising movie treatment...

rememebr when we finally got a HALO live action media but it wasn’t actually the game because “that story has already been told” or whatever

 

I adore Gears and I don’t see any way that series is adapted by any network and isn’t terrible lol

 

i think it has to be done that in grimy/dark style that’s kind of cliche at this point. But the first game especially and the horror aspects of it would work good I think. Definitely becomes harder to adapt the next two

 

where are they going to find actors that are 90% chest and shoulders and run a top speed of half a mile an hour

if we took todays people and transferred them to the 90s, they could/would make a total camp fest move with Bautista as Marcus, The Rock as Dom, John Cena as Baird, and Terry Crews as Cole lol.

But Bautista wants to be Marcus in an actual good version of it. He’s starting to look/be a little old for OG Marcus though, he’s looking more like Old Marcus these days.

i saw someone suggest Stephen Dillane for Prescott and I never really thought about it before but yes, give me Stannis Prescott plz
