There is no way publishers would hand over royalties to developers, the video game industry is a cold hearted, cruel place and those companies would rather fall over and die before they do that.

 

Like Shigeru Miyamoto basically created everything that people love about Nintendo but he just collects a salary and he most definitely is not getting residuals for his work or any merchandise spawned his work. This is also true of any Western dev too.
