Yeah that's great. I heard the scream but just assumed it was meant to be a unseen danger lurking in the city. Having it actually be there is cool
Finally watched the pilot. Great episode. The first half was really engaging, but the last half of the episode was a little slow. Looking forward to the rest of the show. I hope that season 2 isn’t just a copy/paste of LOU2. I’d like for it to be go its own route and have original storytelling.
Also really cool that Marlene is being played by the same actress from the game. I don’t know of any other actors reprising their roles. Troy and Ashley are cast in the show though which is also cool.
Pretty sure I remember reading that they have no intention of telling any story outside of the games (other than expanding on things similar to this season)
Me too, but I was totally staring at the buildings trying to see if any of them were like the John Hancock or Prudential because I was still enjoying the fact that this part of the show was set in Boston because I had no idea ahead of time.
So we’re only getting 2 seasons until the third game is released in like 5-7 years? That sounds like a waste of potential Also losing Pedro as Joel in the first episode or two of season 2 will be lame
They stated that part 2 would be adapted into multiple seasons. But I really hope they don’t go the route of using original material. Just adapt the games and let it end. That’s just me though.
I don’t see the logic in doing part one in a single season and part two over multiple. I know the “scope” of part 2 is a bit bigger but…I dunno. I could see interest in the show dipping when Pedro is gone
I imagine they would mix the two storylines for TV and we'd be cutting between Ellie and Abby, rather than doing a season of Ellie and then a season of Abby until they converge. This way Pedro would be around for longer
I'm hoping for lots of flashbacks. And like an entire episode devoted to the museum. Looking back I'm crushed the last thing she said was "see you around" and he said "yup" and THEN THE NEXT DAY FUCKING FUCK. Sheesh, if the show nails this ......ugh.
What they've done with the pilot is perfect. Part II spoilers below for those that haven't played: True to the story, while expanding the world. If HBO ends up doing Part II, Druckmann and Mazin have to stick to their guns and kill him off in line with the narrative, but I'm all good with flashbacks, etc. if it keeps him around for the duration of the season. I'd hate if they removed his murder due to Pedro's popularity, etc. The angry nerds win that way.
I completely agree that I see it happening, I just hope it's in line with the narrative of Part II, and not at a different point in the story.
Requiring the show to adhere 100% to the game really limits the ability to tell a story. Why even adapt it?
Yikes on the fact that this turned from "how many seasons will the second game need?" to "*straight up spoiling one of the biggest plot points of the second game*" within like 4 posts.
I like the world building and expansion element. Addition while staying true if that makes sense. I'm also greedy and love that major plot point in Part II haha, I think it's such a cool element that makes the rest of the game immensely more interesting.
