Without giving away any specific plot details, I will say aside from putting all the Joel flashbacks into one episode this season has been mirroring the structure of the game pretty closely so Catherine O'Hara saying that the second season focuses on Abby comes as no surprise to us who've played the game.

One tiktoker did bring up an interesting point that the show seems to be sacrificing emotional honesty in favor of story honesty, which is why it's revealing details you wouldn't have gotten until way later in the game. While, yes, it's a bit heavy handed at times, I still don't have faith in the TV audience to "get it," apparently Laura Bailey (Abby's VA/mocap in the game) is STILL receiving hate messages. I don't envy the position Kaitlyn Dever is in during the gap between seasons

 

Apparently the finale leaked, stay vigilant.. or look for it. Whatever floats your boat.

Why even go to the island? Lol what was that? Not a fan of dumbing down narrative and thematic changes for television. Season 1 was great but this season has been a huge let down for me. My friend who hasn’t played the games is loving it though so I can’t put myself in the place of someone not familiar with the source material. I just hope new fans of the show give the games a try.

I haven’t played the games and I think this season is a big step down from the first.

 

I mean, this is a purposefully incomplete story at this point.

It’s pretty expected (IMO) that the first season covering a complete story will come across better or stronger.
