They have already said that the second game will be at least 2 seasons. If you’ve played the game, there is an obvious point to end this season. Based off that, that’s how we are judging if there is enough time or not.

 

Oh okay sorry might have misread because 2 episodes is def not enough to cover the actual rest of the game.

 

Honestly it's unlikely but they could even stretch two more additional seasons out of Part II if they really wanted to.

 

Isabela Merced said she is expecting filming for Season 3 to be in 2026. That means a 2027 release for Season 3. A 2 year gap for basically part 2 of the second game is not ideal. They should’ve filmed it this year to release in 2026.

 

Shit I assumed they would start filming this year….hence why they made a shorter season so they could get right back at it.

 

At one point I saw a quote from Neil or Craig that said they were going to try to start production this summer, but I guess timelines for actors just didn’t work out if they really did move it to next year.

 

Even though I could say it in a super vague way, I’m going to post a reply to the filming discussion in the game thread.

 

Agreed. I honestly expected s3 being well under way and a short turn between 2 and 3 but again (and not to annoy the 'don't talk about the game people), s3 is going to feature some expensive and expansive set pieces that if they haven't started yet, will mean it'll be a hot minute. Either way, with this and Andor (and from what I've heard, Severence) these shows that had long waits haven't disappointed.

 

The set design with the spores was so beautiful. And I hate that I'm sure that level of production quality is also what leads me to complaining about time between seasons but I want to have my cake and eat it too.

As a non game player I love the tension they've built between the smarter infected and the airborne spores this season. Got me all stressed.

 

another good episode, that scene with the smart infected (do they have a cool Left 4 Dead type name?) was stressful as hell. Jesse showing up in the nick of time felt a bit copout-y but I like his character so I'll live with it

once again I am going to sing Merced's praises constantly, she's honestly one of the best castings I've seen in a long minute

 

In the game, they're called stalkers. Don't think they've named them in the show yet as this is the first time someone other than Ellie has seen them.

 

Their are runners (the typical horde), the clickers, bloaters, and now stalkers.
