Kind of assumed it already but I guess Ellie dropping the “I know” explains why she was being such a dick to Joel
Enjoyed most of the episode but the scene in the words with the scar people or whatever felt like something from the walking dead.
I know they gave explanation to it, it just seems like it should have felt like Ellie was more bloodthirsty about this than she had been.. up until she saw Nora. Then it was a full 180, and I loved what I saw
Oh damn that's insane. Makes it even crazier to me that they can't even seem to understand why Joel did what he did.
yeah the coldness in her voice and face as she repeatedly asks “where’s Abby” just excellent and continues to cement how fucking weird parts of the internet are being about Bella Ramsey because she’s crushing it every week now
I honestly was worried Ellie’s rage at the end would be worse than it was. But it was time for it to come out. I’m going to be a wreck next week.
Tbf, Bella has said they don't care what pronouns people use and that they have no dysphoria about it
Haven't watched the ep yet, but this is exciting. Ellie didn't really start going off the deep end as far as her revenge quest went until she actually ran into Abby's crew, so glad to see that translates here
kinda silly they have this massive air contagion sitting right beneath them and no one is guarding one of the main entry points to it?? did i miss something?
No, it just seems they’re in denial mode about the cordyceps evolving. The spores are a thing early on in the first game and they’ve decided to make it a new development in the show universe, just like the stalker variants of infected in this episode and when they appeared earlier in the first episode of this season. Seems the WLF are the first to know about the spores and they are downplaying it because they have their conflict with the Seraphites that is on going and they are focusing on that.
Yeah the mom from Ted says at the start of the episode that she's keeping it on an absolute need to know basis, and the squad that was sent there had themselves sealed in, so they probably figured that was enough for now. Constant security there would just let people know something is up when they're trying to keep it buried
In the game she tells her dad right before the surgery "even if it was me I would still want you to do it" when he was morally struggling with it
I think that was the point of Dina's story. "If my family had done something to hurt his people first, it wouldn't stop me from hunting him down for the rest of my life."
These last two episodes have felt the most "video game-y" out of the whole series so far but so far I don't mind. Interesting choice to introduce spores now when it feels like they kind of went out of their way to not use them in the first season but it translated onto the screen beautifully, the set design in that last scene was amazing I'm definitely at the point where I don't remember many fine details of the game besides the super broad strokes now
I have really enjoyed this season, but the fact that there are only 2 episodes left is a bit ridiculous. 7 episodes is just not enough. Should have been 8 at minimum. And then we will wait at least another 2 years for season 3. Ugh.
