Great introduction to Isaac. Thought his character was great. The Take On Me scene was perfect. Just a fantastic scene that gets me every time. To each their own, but not sure how you can be unhappy with it in any way or think it's too long. Is Ellie just supposed to go double time or something? It's as beautiful as it is because of how she plays it and how Dina slowly takes it all in.
So Shannon Woodward (voice actor for game Dina) is single handedly responsible for getting Craig Mazin and Jeffrey Wright involved in the game/show lol. She better have a cameo soon.
Ashley Johnson playing her mom made too much sense. I love Shannon though, I wish she was in more things.
Really interested to find out what’s going on with Isaac. He seemed like he hated FEDRA for being brutes but is very much a brute for the wolves now
finally got to this episode, so good. Merced's facial acting in the Take On Me scene is absolutely unreal, she's gonna have a long career
Wright plays Isaac in the game as well but the character is only in like two scenes so I'm glad he's getting an expanded role in the show
Finally got to this as well and yeah this is the most video game episode the show has had. It almost felt like a tutorial of a video game at points. The whole explanation of how they got in the building felt really like that.
I thought it was kinda weird how Dina seemed like she was just gonna shoot Ellie right away before hearing her out though, like Ellie had to beg to just be given two seconds to talk to her. You don't turn that quickly, and even if she did, Dina could shoot her right as it happens haha
You're in for a great watch! Was there really no place else to watch it until Max came available? I'm surprised, I would have thought they'd license it to Netflix or something overseas to at least make some money from it heh
Well, Dina just confirmed she was pregnant. Her deciding to protect her and her child right away makes sense. Still a hard decision, not easy to make, but I think it makes sense.
I get it, but you'd think you'd want at least a few moments to speak with someone you really care about for the last time before saying goodbye?
They turn decently fast and we don’t know how long it took them to get from the subway to the theater. Tess let them leave her because she knew it was happening. I don’t think Dina was unjustified to protect herself that quickly. Also nobody else is immune as far as we know so it was probably just based off previous experience of people getting bitten, whether first hand or what she heard from others.
when Ellie first tries to plead to her not to shoot, Dina says “don’t make this any harder than it already is” or something to that effect. so I think in Dina’s head it is kinda like ripping off a bandaid, like letting herself have a final moment with Ellie will only make it more difficult for her to do what she believes needs to be done in the circumstance. I feel like this is kinda proven by how the scene plays out, she lets Ellie talk her into not shooting her and waiting it out to see if she turns, which is objectively not a wise decision given the chances Ellie is telling the truth are incredibly slim.
Enjoying this for sure but why does Dina seem more out for revenge and serious about this than Ellie? Cool they're teasing cordyceps being in the air! Yikes
How far are you into the episode? They explain why she would be so motivated in situation like this early on. And sure does sound like spores.
