Have a lot of thoughts. Loved that the credits song had Ashley Johnson singing. Will post more later. Also no preview for next week or inside the ep?
It was there, check again if it wasn’t on yours. May have been added late, I started mine about 5 mins or so after it released.
i feel like that makes more sense for a season premiere than a finale but yeah i could see it and what i said being the penultimate episode. just wonder if it ends the way you’re saying if there’s enough story for a full season 3
Yeah I totally feel they can do another 7 episodes from Abby PoV also leading up to the theater, remember they've already said they're open to fleshing it out for a S4, I can see them having enough content for the farm and CA and showdown tbh.
I don't think I loved that quite as much as all of you. Thought all the stuff in the lodge was pretty great (though I preferred the game version). I really hate that they revealed who Abbey is and why she did it straight away. Makes things a lot less interesting. I thought the siege on Jackson was pretty weak. It felt very Walking Dead. CG Bloater still looks like shit.
Also Jackson's defense plan sucks shit. Lets set huge fires right next to our completely wooden walls. Let's line up in an alley and shoot bullets directly at eachother
I think understanding a character’s motivation and seeing how they react within that context is more interesting than trying to guess why they’re doing these things.
I'm curious to know how many people who didn't play the game still sort of suspected what happens based on how the rest of us poorly tried to talk around it. I feel like we spoiled it by trying so hard to not spoil it
Somebody spoiled Joel’s death for me in this very thread either right before or shortly after s1 premiered.
Nope. Thank you for not spoiling it. I mean, I figured this would happen eventually, but not so soon. The moment I knew it could be coming though was at the start of the episode when they mentioned a scene of them making up which has not been shown. I was suspicious from then on so it wasn't much of a shock. I get where this is going now, so I'm excited for the emotional payoff of some flashbacks.
What an episode. Loved every second, hit all the right notes while remaining faithful, different, accessible to the non-gamers. People who think Abby sucks, suck.
My only comment on this is that this ‘lovable character gets taken due to the source material’ scene is miles beyond Glenn’s death in The Walking Dead. HBO seems to respect this moment, while AMC showed no ounce of respect. Major props to HBO
