I definitely preferred the final swing to head to the stab to the neck, but it’s whatever. Not a big enough change to add or subtract any points

 

I am one of those people who hand-waves a lot of the criticism of the game because it is probably my favorite game of all time (TLOU2, specifically)…but if they took that into consideration when adapting the series I can understand it.

I am just so glad to see a wider audience get to experience this all for the first time. I will be destroying my YouTube algorithm with reaction vids over the next week.

 

I’ve had my fill of HBO caving in the head of a beloved character of mine being played by Pedro Pascal, so I’m glad they changed it up if that’s the case lol

 

Is this a common thing he does? Should I be worried for Fantastic Four?

 

Did Catherine O’Hara survive? Episode dropped the ball.

 

I can’t say it’s a cop out, as it’s still a brutal beating with a death, but I do feel like they should have kept it accurate. The shotgun to the knee was worse in the game, too.

 

In the game there is context for why she was jacked lol. Probably won’t happen now.

Not really a major spoiler but don’t click in case you care. Their home base is the equivalent of the Seattle Sounders stadium in the game and there is a full gym.

Before your edit, you confused me. I was like, I’ve played the game 3 times since October and I have no idea why she gets so jacked. I also don’t know if that really explains why, just likely how.

 

I guess how is the better answer but I think the why is pretty self explanatory. After what happened she wanted to be able to take down Joel in any way possible, so by weapon or force.

 

I thought the why simply boiled down to "I want to kill Joel" and she basically wanted to be a beast in case she has to 1v1 him.

 

I’m impressed that gamers were so good at keeping it as tight lipped as they did for as long as they did.

 

I mean, lifting weights would be ideal for that world. Never know when something will fall on you and pin you down when a clicker is after you. Gotta stay committed to the bowflex

 

The fucking HBO/Max account almost ruined it themselves by showing a clip of a golf club in a TikTok video. But they deleted it and then took down posts by everyone who reposted it lol.

 

I’ve never played the games, but I still think I expected Joel to die at some point. But I was thinking at the end of the season maybe, or maybe even next season, toward what I assume would be the “end” of the game. But I guess fucking not!

also I just re-realized I can’t even play the game this summer like I want to because I don’t have PlayStation boooo

 

Don’t google why Abby was jacked in the game. I did so before the edit in the post and Reddit had some… interesting theories.

 

Thought this was pretty effective, but as expected didn’t hit as hard as in the game. Also the attack on Jackson, while cool, felt like a weird distraction because literally every character we care about except Tommy and Maria were elsewhere.

 

I am sort of relieved it’s finally happened so I don’t have to worry about accidentally spoiling it anymore lol

 

Don’t think it was mentioned but the rendition of “Through the Valley” at the end was done by Ashley Johnson (aka game Ellie). That was so great.

 

On my list of iconic game trailers - and this was long before we knew how the game would turn out. So good!

 

It’s on pc if you have a decent one of those. Just came out

 

IGN gave this episode a 6/10 lol
