Yeah I don't think it means anything at this point. Mesc from the VG thread has connections/works in the game industry said it got pushed to the back burner because they had people come over from the Factions game when it got canceled, and they scrapped some stuff after those devs brought in new ideas. They switched their focus to Intergalactic for now. They do have two development teams now though so I'm sure both games are being worked on simultaneously and with more resources being put into the latter currently.
Yeah, I just don’t see them not making Part III at this point. He’s probably just playing coy since confirmation was never officially official, and the presumed delays.
I honestly am not sure we'll get part 3 and if the gaming world throws the tantrum it's starting throw about Intergalactic, I could see Neil just saying fuck it. He seems like a pretty sensitive person who lets discourse get to him, so he may have just wanted to do something new before going back to it... but yea, the trolls / bigots / general morons are out crying DEI about the next game from a very limited teaser trailer so idk... I get the feeling he may just decide to move on to something else. Maybe TV or movies full time.
Yeah the outrage for Part 2 was insane. The special footage on the Directors Cut PS5 release of Part 2 seemed to indicate that they were in planning stages for Part 3 though, so I'm inclined to believe it'll eventually come. When that is, who knows. We weren't gonna get a Part 2 because Neil wasn't 100% in on the story they wanted to put out. So with him working on Intergalactic I feel it'll be a while for sure, and only if Neil feels there IS a story worth exploring for Part 3. He's not gonna put out some slop just because we want it, he wants the story to make sense and be worth telling.
I could believe 1 not getting a sequel. The story ending after 2 feels extremely hard to believe to me. (I recognize I’m in the tv thread but I don’t think that’s really a spoiler.)
This is spot on. 1 would have been totally fine on its own (although im glad they did a sequel). But once they decided to do part 2, it's almost necessary to do part 3.
Starting a rewatch of season 1 since I haven’t seen it since it premiered in 2023. The cold open of talk show host talking about the possibility of fungi taking over people if the world’s temperature goes up is one of the best scenes in the show imo.
Seriously the two cold opens were so inspired and interesting as well as the Frank/Bill ep. Can’t wait to see what they cook up for this season. I’m sure there will be some interesting world building like s1
Just a heads up, spoilers for the first episode could be out there just over a week from now. The red carpet is happening 3 weeks before the premiere on HBO.
For people who haven’t played the game. Sometimes assholes still spread this stuff. But also we still don’t know the actual pacing of the season so even people who have played may not want to know.
TBC though we’re in the tv thread and sarcasm is hard to understand over the internet Gregory. Also didn’t really need to respond. Let’s all just get ready to enjoy a second season of TLoU tv show on Max, whilst we try not to be overtaken by fascism in real life. Let’s all get along
i haven't played it but if joel dies in the first episode does that mean he dies really early in the game???
