The cut to Abby. Chills/watery eyes. I don’t mind if they adjust the timeline or setting slightly but I need the impact/pain of this season to be just as jarring and cathartic as the game.
Gonna be great. Love the nods to the game (what appears to be exact scene replicas) just like in the first season. I know they are splitting the game into 2 seasons, but it's hard to really see how and where with how the trailer is cut so that'll be fun to see play out. Super excited and now just hoping it's early 2025 (like Feb / March).
TLOU2 releases on PC on 4/3. Imagine season 2 won’t release until after that. Again reiterating that you should not watch/look up anything about the game if you aren’t planning on playing before it premieres
Yeah, with HBO saying The White Lotus is premiering in February, I’ve been thinking April 13, and this would line up with that.
I remember watching some video essay on TLOU2 when the game out and dissecting why it was so polarizing. I’m not a gamer so I watched the whole thing just out of curiosity and got it all spoiled for me, but I honestly can’t remember a single thing about it. I wonder if any of it will comeback as I’m watching season two.
**SPOILERS** In my opinion a good majority of gamers, be it their age or immaturity, didn't accept the storytelling of TLOU2. The writers clearly felt that Joel's death was important both to propel the revenge storyline, and to give the story even more emotional depth. A lot of gamers just want to play as their heroes and save the day with big explosions, and it didn't let us do that. It forced us to question the morality of what a protagonist and antagonist means. Personally I felt like the writing in TLOU2 was next level and gave us a real mature, 'adult' post-apocalypse story. I can't wait for the second season of the show.
