That's incredibly depressing. I always figured it was safe for at least one more season so they could get to syndication. It's not like it's a terribly expensive show to make and it's still well-liked critically. Hopefully they do the right thing and give them at least a planned final season to wrap things up on their terms. EDIT: Actually even with another 18-episode season it won't reach syndication numbers. Still though, no reason to cancel a cheap, critically acclaimed series and replace it with something that'll just get cancelled at midseason. Then again, that's what I always said about Hannibal and we know how that went.
They're airing the final two episodes of the season next week. Really hope this comes back, I'm pretty much fully invested now and would really hate for it to end on a cliffhanger
Damn I really hope this doesn't get cancelled. One of the best half hour shows right now. This and New Girl are on thin ice. I'd be super bummed if neither come back in the fall.
That time jump really threw me off. I felt like I missed an episode. Gale and Ericka are a couple now?
Oh god. They found a boat called "The Seaward". Does this mean this show takes place in the Arrested Development universe?
Holy shit what a finale. I know that Kristen Wiig will probably either die or leave like Sudeikis but it would be awesome if she joined the cast. What else is she really doing lately? This had better not get fucking cancelled, this has turned into such a great show
We'll probably get a fifth season now, too. I'm not 100% sure what the syndication threshold is for this show but I don't think one more season is enough to get there if they're going by number of episodes rather than number of seasons. Like I said above, the show seems like it's cheap to make and the critical reception is still strong so there is (hopefully) no reason for them not to let it get that far. Either way, very happy about this news. The fact that Will Forte has a network sitcom that ran for four seasons where he acts like a total fool and his catchphrase is "Ohhhhh farts" is amazing.
Two more 18 episode seasons would put it at 85 episodes, three short of the traditional 88 episode syndication benchmark Very happy this is renewed though
