Yeah this was great; Ridley knows how to do a good historical epic like the back of his hand. Was pretty satisfying to see the end result of the duel. Affleck was perfect for his role. Damon never looked quite right for the role, but the acting throughout by everybody was good

I saw this about a month ago or so and yes I loved it.

Going to find some time this weekend to give it a go. I have some reservations about the rape scene because my wife does not do well at all through explicit rape sequences. However, she loves Ridley Scott's films like I do, so she's willing to watch it with me.

I didn't know about the structure of the movie going into this and I was really impressed. I loved catching the subtle differences or extra lines that made each POV so important. And I agree with everyone else, the actual duel was INTENSE. Loved how it was shot when it becomes hand to hand for the first minute, and you get a few seconds from Marguerite's perspective. I also didn't know the outcome so my eyes were glued to the screen.

wish I saw this before I rented it today!

but yeah this was pretty good. I don’t have much to add. My only questions is what did Matt Damon have a mullet?

I tried but i think i'm going to have to give it a 2nd shot.

You ever have the feeling watching a movie where you're like "I can't tell if this is boring or if i'm just tired"?

I've had that with a lot of things, not just movies. Music, games, TV. Being tired is never a great time to properly appreciate entertainment.

Going in I thought this would be boring but I was completely enthralled beginning to end. Ridley does this shit better than pretty much anyone else.

Very excited to finally rewatch now that it's on HBO Max.

Really liked this. I think it’s among Scott’s better movies and one I hope gets more attention over time.
