Not gonna lie if I like know a song/the melody but don’t know all the words I will mumble along sometimes (but not if I just don’t know it at all)

Trust me when I say these people are forming words in the moment that aren't in the songs playing, and trailing behind each harmonized note as it goes. It's painful. And for whatever reason, happens regularly.

I once had the 1975's The Sound playing, and I heard a dad doing this. His two kids and wife were also visiting our shop and after his son asks him what the song was he goes "It's been a while since i've heard this but I think it's a deep cut from Prince."

I had to leave the floor to laugh and text friends.

The twist is that guy is also on a messageboard somewhere talking about how he loves to mess with young people by being impossibly out of touch.

The Copeland album isn't a "I feel like listening to some music while I clean" kind of album. It's a "sit alone in the dark and go on a journey" kind of album. I've listened to the Copeland one twice, and while I loved it, it's not one I can just go back to whenever I'm feeling like listening to something. There's a specific time and place I need to be for that kind of thing, haha, if that makes sense. But because of that, it's in my top 10 of 2019, for sure.

I mean, dusting your shelves and listening to blushing would definitely enhance the cleaning experience. I understand what you're saying though.

My favourite three albums of the first half of this year are Copeland, As Cities Burn and Sigrid. In no particular order at this point.

  20. Very nice. Mine are The Maine, The Dangerous Summer, and The Story Changes.

  21. Sharon Van Etten, Julia Jacklin and Charly Bliss for me. There’s been such a breadth of talent, as well as interesting records I keep coming back to

To my shame, I've not heard of any of these artists. Where should I start and why?!

Thanks for taking your time to share these. Had a quick listen. The first two had similar vibes and I feel like I need to pay attention (currently at work). Charly Bliss sounded great - will have to check out that album.
