Had to purchase Battle Born on vinyl today. This is my first Killers album on vinyl. Found the Double LP in red with the 20 page booklet on Poshmark for $13!!!

Battle Born is an incredible album.

 

Yeah. It was used but looked like it was in great condition. Even had the plastic/stickers.

Poshmark is social marketplace. Mainly for clothing/shoes, but there’s other stuff on there too. I’ve bought shoes from there before but when I searched for the vinyl on google, an ad for the Poshmark posting popped up.

 

I found Battle Born for half off at my local record store on Black Friday a few years ago. I think the sticker price was $22, so I got it for $11. That was an awesome find.

 

That was a hell of a score.

 

This place always has awesome half-off bins on Black Friday. I make a point of stopping in every year.

Yea what a lackluster announcement lol. Whatever. I’m excited for new Killers!

 

They aren’t the best at marketing themselves

 

In for it. Last album was good but it didn't stand the test of time for me. There's a handful of very good songs on it. Since Wonderful, Battle Born has been my go to for these guys.

 

Yeah, WW album was weak. Hoping for a return to form.

 

I only end up feeling like WW is a little weak because I know what these guys are capable of. I really like "Rut", "Life To Come", "Some Kind of Love" and "Money On Straight" a lot. Title track, "Run For Cover", "Tyson vs. Douglas" and "Out of my Mind" are all pretty good too. "The Calling" is a little bit of an outlier but I think it's fun. The bummers for me are that I think the closer is pretty terrible despite that sweet, sweet Knopfler guitar, and "The Man" not cutting the mustard as a Killers single. Its okay musically, but the lyrics are odd and they usually have such fantastic singles.

 

Haven’t returned to WW a ton but I think it’s pretty great.

 

Yeah I liked about 4 songs on WW

Run For Cover is pretty great

 

I just think they can (and have) done better

 

When your chorus sounds more like The Killers than The Killers do
