Hot Fuss is an encapsulated version of my Spring Break trip during my senior year of high school. Such a fantastic trip and such a pleasure of a record to blast on the streets of Florida coastline.
I like Uncle Johnny. Didn't realize it had so much hate. Although I LOVE both Daddy's Eyes and Move Away too, so would have been fine with either of those in place of Uncle Johnny.
Yeah, I'd be totally okay with that. Full band. Anytime I've been in the queue for a Killers or Brandon show, the topic of hating Uncle Jonny always comes up, haha.
The Desired Effect is a great song, cannot believe he left it off that album. Love that album, too. Not a fan of the new single......hope the album is good. To me, Sam's Town is by far their best work; nothing else is even close.
I dont remember Jenny (the song). Maybe I heard it, but I was rather aware of a lot of the other songs from the album first.
Aww, I think Swallow It is excellent :'( Top 5 on the album for me (the better songs being Only The Young, Jilted Lovers, Crossfire and Magdalena). But I do agree that Goodnight, Travel Well doesn't really work with the Day & Age atmosphere. And, while it's moody and dark, their melodic touch seemed to desert them on this album. Tidal Wave would've been a better closer, and should've definitely been on the album anyway. The worst Killers/Brandon songs for me are the most middle-of-the-road, as they're bland and feel like a bunch of other bands could've written them. Especially if the tunes are unmemorable My nominations for worst 5 album tracks are: Hard Enough The World We Live In (awful single choice) Believe Me Natalie Here With Me Everything Will Be Alright On another note, I'm really looking forward to the title track from Wonderful Wonderful - so far it's been described as the "heaviest" (subject matter-wise) song on the album, as well as anthemic and the weirdest production-wise!
"Hard Enough" and "Believe Me Natalie" are great too. "The World That We Live In" is a top five song on Day & Age for me.
He literally said "I know the rest of the album but didn't know this one" I'm going based on what he said that makes it so hard to believe.
Agree on World. Used to blast that on headphones back in the college days while walking campus. Great tune to cruise to.
