Really loving this. I need more listens to fully explain it, but it feels like a grown up "Hot Fuss". High hopes for this one.
From the Facebook Q&A so far: Learned from ‘Sam’s Town’ era not to divulge influences for a record. Letting fans choose songs? These are things managers and such bring up to us. Could see it happening in the future. Question on style of fifth album era- still working that out. Excited about stage design. New direction. Which element of Nevada will feature? I’m from Nevada, didn’t realize how much it mattered until we left. The older I get, the more I fall in love with the desert and geography. These are my people. ‘The Man‘ sounds like David Bowie walking down The Strip. There’s a holiness about the desert I’ve tried to capture. Keyboard sound Have All The Songs Been Written (features Knopfler), sparse arrangement. Title track is ‘Wonderful, Wonderful’. Darker track. Touches on things he hasn’t written about yet. Written with Mark. Alex Cameron helped with ‘Run for Cover’. Collaborators: Mark Knopfler (Have All The Songs Been Written), Alex Cameron (Run for Cover), Brian Eno (Some Kind of Love) Live Blog: The Killers Roll Out ‘The Man’

Interesting song. It's definitely a jam. I love that it's upbeat. Gonna have to give it more listens. It's definitely not what I was expecting. The sound of the drums is throwing me off - it's not jumping out at me right away as sounding like Mr. Vanucci which almost all Killers music does. For some reason this song being the lead single makes me feel like this album could be similar to Day & Age in that listening to any one song in isolation really doesn't give you any idea what the hell the rest of the album sounds like. I could be dead wrong on that. I cannot wait to hear that sparsely arranged Knopfler collaboration. Holy sh-t.
Playing this in the car now... holy shit, I fucking love it. Can definitely hear some big time Bowie influence.
Honestly, I don't know. I can't really put my finger on it. I only got to hear it one time when it played on the Philly radio station, so I'll definitely have to listen more once I actually get my hands on it.
