I love how dark this opening track is. It's strange, theres a lot of weird reverb and its hard to keep track of what the melody is doing. not sure I love the mix but I do love the guitar over drive tones in the chorus and bridge.
Haha yeah I've only listened to it once last night. Too many distractions during the workday. I have a road trip planned after work. It's going to be all Circa! Edit: I actually had taken today off so I could take my time packing and just enjoy all of the new music. Unfortunately a guy I work with dropped a refrigerator on himself and broke a bunch of ribs, so I'm filling in for him:(
I didn't listen to their last record and definitely feel like I missed a massive part of their evolution to get to this point haha.
People are going to @ me with all sorts of nasty stuff from this, but some of this isn't too far off with what taking back Sunday did with tidal wave last year... I'm sure that's just both bands pulling from similar influences
I think most of their albums are "growers". I remember despising Sam's Town the first couple times I listened to it, now it's in my top five. I'm actually shocked how much I liked this right away.
It took me about 10 listens to get into BB. Thankfully my wife is a huge Killers fan, otherwise I would've given up on it after a few spins.
Not sure why they get so much hate around here. Not my favorite band, but I enjoyed some of their stuff. I actually really liked that album with the panther on it
Same boat for me unfortunately. The Killers aren't my favorite band but I've always enjoyed and continue to enjoy songs from every one of their albums. Loved Brandon's solo albums too for the most part. There's just so little here that's grabbing me.
Some great songs with strong Bowie vibes, but a lot of slower songs that feel like introspective closers that really slow any sort of momentum down. Not sure how I feel about it just yet.
Basically like you took the first half of "Handwritten" by Gaslight, made "National Anthem" every track on the back half, then shuffled the tracklist around. (That's not a dig at National Anthem, it's one of my favorite TGA songs)
I'm a little drunk and home alone and just decided to blast this album on my speakers while I listen for the first time. This first song is freaking me out.
Oh thank god. Have all the songs been written is just fine. Literally this is the only song I've disliked the whole time lol.
