An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

listening to these guys a lot recently, "My List" and "This River is Wild" are stunning deep cuts. know I'm late to the party but how this album was ever poorly received baffles me

Agree, Sam's Town is BY FAR their best album, start to finish

Maybe it's an off-shoot of the excitement I have for this next release, but I've come to appreciate all tracks on ITM in the last few weeks, not just the clear bangers.

ITM feels pretty close to a perfect album to me. Some songs are clearer stand outs and the first half is stronger, but I never skip a track.

Except for C'est La Vie on the Deluxe. Don't like that at all.

Yeah, I think Running Towards a Place and Lightning Fields took a while, but it’s such an easy album to listen to all the way through and feels greater than the sum of its parts.

Arguably the best 3-song ending stretch to a Killers album? Thinking about it, only River Is Wild - Why Do I Keep Counting - Exitlude rivals it imo.

Yes, exactly. Those were the tracks I recently came around too.

RE: 3-song stretch, are you saying Lightening Fields > Fire in Bone > Running Towards a Place is up there? That's actually a tougher thing to evaluate than I originally thought. I can't choose between the first three tracks of Sam's Town, the first three tracks of Day & Age, or the first three tracks of ITM.

They've always been better at opening albums than closing them for me.

They'll never have a better string of songs than the first five on Hot Fuss, though very few bands have a better string of songs than the first five on Hot Fuss. The first four on Imploding the Mirage are admirably close.

Yeah, hard for me to against the first three on Hot Fuss, but Imploding the Mirage is the definite runner-up.

First half of Hot Fuss is great, but I honestly barely know the second half. Sam's Town is my favorite all the way through, but Imploding the Mirage is pretty close. I still need to spend more time with Day & Age and Battle Born outside of the hits tbh. Wonderful Wonderful is ok but inconsistent

Honestly, Hot Fuss, Sam's Town, Battle Born, and Imploding the Mirage are all pretty even for me. Depends on the day and time of year which one I like most. Lately, though, I've been really feeling like Mirage is their masterpiece.

Day & Age is the clear fifth, and Wonderful Wonderful is the clear sixth. If we're adding Brandon's solo work, then The Desired Effect is probably my number five and Flamingo probably slots in between Day & Age and Wonderful Wonderful. Though, if The Desired Effect had the title track on it, that might push it into my top tier.

Love The Desired Effect, have that in my vinyl collection. Really glad I got to see Brandon on that tour. Need to listen to Flamingo again. Been a long time.

    There’s another winner.

ITM may overtake D&A for me eventually but it’ll take awhile. I had a moment with D&A when it came out, just really clicked with it. minus that dumpster fire of a closing track.

I've come to love Day & Age over time, but man, I was so disappointed in that record when it came out. Really felt unfinished to me at the time.

Wonderful Wonderful, I still maintain is fantastic in that track 2-7 run. But I strongly dislike the title track, and the album definitely ends on a whimper.
