I think this is what makes it easier to gloss over Brandon's more bizarre lyrics. His delivery is always incredible and he almost uses words as a stream of consciousness accompaniment to the music because of how they sound, not necessarily because of what they mean. That's how I've always felt at least.
Are you calling these out as silly / outrageous? I always interpreted them as that but done with intention as a way to mock those that are overly macho about their American pride.
oh yeah I wasn’t saying it was bad haha, I like it, but it def feels like one of those lyrics that people would say are Brenden flowers trademarks haha
I guess an interview with Brandon leaked (?) earlier today where he said the EP has been scrapped because it interferes with plans for a new Greatest Hits comp, and that he’s working on a solo album more akin to Pressure Machine. Then it was scrubbed from the internet.
It is so hard to believe that an adult person in 2023 would think that a new greatest hits compilation is a better idea than a new EP.
eh, i get the sentiment, but a greatest hits vinyl release will sell. especially if its going to be say, a record store day release.
This reads like he isn't on the same page as the other guys about what to do with The Killers from now on
I'll gladly take a Brandon solo album that builds on Pressure Machine. I'd much rather another Sawdust-style compilation over a greatest hits comp, but maybe they'll work the EP songs into it like they did with Shot in the Night and Just Another Girl.
The impression I get is all of the new EP songs (I think there’s only three?) will be on the compilation. Similar to Shot at the Night and Just Another Girl with Direct Hits.
They already had a greatest hits album and were inactive for half the time since then? Weird, if true.
From what I’ve read, not sure how accurate it is, it’s going to be mostly comprised of the last three albums and some songs they left off the first time (like Jenny). So a Vol. 2, basically.
In a world of streaming and playlists, greatest hits complications seem pretty dated and unnecessary as a whole to me.
Brian Fallon saying The Killers were the only good thing to come out of Las Vegas was one of my highlights from Saturday's Gaslight Anthem show. Game recognize game.
