Interesting that the little intros to each song arent on the vinyl, feel like theyre just as much a part of the songs.
Yeah this entire thing is excellent. Just listened to it twice on my drive up to the mountains. It’s fantastic.
Yea I loved them on my first listen yesterday. Curious how I’ll feel without them once I have it in vinyl.
This album is fantastic, although I definitely skip past "Terrible Thing" every time I play the album. "Runaway Horses" has grown on me a little bit, but I still think those two songs are the weakest spots on the album by a big margin. I do think I've said to myself in my head that each and every other song might be the best part of the album at some point on a listen through. "West Hills" is a BEAST. What a way to open an album. I have another confession: I only love 60% of Flamingo, but I love 100% of the bonus tracks.
Because it's boring, it stops the album dead in it's tracks just as it's getting going, and I'm impatient to get to the rest of the album which is almost entirely masterpiece level.
Terrible Thing is my favorite track on the album too. It's devastating and I absolutely love his vocals in the chorus. is the character in the song on the verge of suicide? because that's kind of the vibe I get
yes - it’s discussed in this article / interview which I found to be a great read The Killers: “There are a lot of young people unsure of their place in this world”
idek what my favorite song is tbh I'll think I know and then the next one starts and I'll think the same thing really great album
I literally cannot stop listening to this. @Matt Chylak can’t believe you had to refrain from spoiling this for so long!
Where can I find versions or write ups of what comes before the songs? Amazon Music only has the abridged versions. Maybe I’ll look on YouTube tonight
The full version of the album (with the recordings of the people talking on some songs) is on Amazon Music for me. I just had to dig a little deeper. The abridged version comes up first if I search, but if I scroll through their albums the full version shows up eventually.
