Really outstanding, career-spanning interview. Delves into his lyrical themes quite a bit, which is rewarding even if you're not interested in the subject matter.
Did everyone know about a bonus track for Imploding The Mirage called "C'est La Vie"...??? I had no idea this existed, but the version of the album on newalbumreleases.net has 13 tracks - the aforementioned song plus "Caution (Wasatch Style)" & "Blowback (Acoustic)".
It was on their original potential track list for the album in 2019. There’s a 90-second clip floating around out there. It’s definitely... interesting, haha.
I have the bonus track and don't mind sharing it. It's not amazing or anything, but it's kinda fun. It sorta reminds me of "Prize Fighter" a little bit. It is definitely b-side / bonus track material.
Would be cool if Party People was the answer to that age old question: Are we human, or are we dancer?
"C'est La Vie" seems like exactly what a b-side should be, but it did get me to go back and listen to Imploding The Mirage in its entirety, and this album is a damn masterpiece.
I think I may actually prefer the Wasatch version of Caution. God damn, Brandon has never sounded better.
Just as a standalone song, the Wasatch Version is phenomenal. Brandon's vocals are insanely good. The album version definitely fits the album much better though.
My expectations for this could not possibly be higher. Is this a one-off or from another new album???
