Here's what I believe is the full text of the report. Bolded the sections that felt the most reassuring.
I think what she shared regarding her experiences on the tour are absolutely valid and she deserved to share them, and if it caused The Killers to re-evaluate and take overdue, necessary steps to ensure a safe touring environment, that's great. There was clearly problems with the environment that allowed to exist on that tour. The band is responsible for the crew they employ and are accountable for how that crew is managed and behaves while on tour. If the band didn't know about these behaviors and activities, there's a breakdown in trust with those that manage the crew for not passing the information along and taking immediate action. If the band DID know about this type of behavior and activities, and allowed it to happen, enabled that environment, or didn't make corrections, that's a major problem. However, I think it was irresponsible for her to make straight-up rape accusations on behalf of an unknown person regarding a situation she did not explicitly witness with her own two eyes, and then levy those accusations vaguely against "band members". That doesn't invalidate her other experiences at all, but that's a very serious extreme in her story.
yeah, the way many bands use touring members to make their songs possible to tour on but then completely distance themselves from those members whenever something bad happens and hold actual band members to a higher standard/distant has always seemed incredibly odd/bad to me
I saw on Twitter they're releasing 'Dying Breed' tomorrow. That's the one they previewed on their Insta live and it sounded great, so really excited to hear the proper version
I have really loved their art for this album cycle. The music is really good too, but I’m liking this new creative energy they seem to have.
"When The Dreams Run Dry" is major The Desired Effect vibes, with a second verse that reminds me of “Kokomo” somehow
“Dying Breed” is so good! Only Brandon could sing a line like, “I’ll be your life guard” and absolutely sell it.
Dying Breed makes me exhilarated in a way that reminds me why I fell in love with the band in the first place. A 10/10 IMO
Was their mission on this record just "Make our Born to Run?" Jesus, they're really going for it, and I love it. I liked the last album a lot, but just from the singles I can tell that this one is going to be a cut above.
i still don't love 'Fire In Bone' but, the other 3 are absolutely incredible. I cannot wait for next Friday.
Love that I'm blasting a song called "Dying Breed" during a global pandemic. I could go down to this.
'Fire In Bone' is my least favorite of the songs released so far, by a pretty good margin too, but it's still a cool song. I'm guessing it flows nicely in the context of the album amidst all of the epic bombastic songs we've heard so far.
Big fan of Fire in Bone. Love the rambly & random lyrics, the 80's era rhythm production, & the fact that they found a way to sneak in a chorus to it all.
Much more cohesive sonically, at least. I really liked the singles from Wonderful, Wonderful but they all sounded like they came from different projects. They made sense thematically in the context of the album, but still. Never mind that this sound is way more up my alley.
It’s the biggest outlier for sure. I like the placement, gives a different energy after “Lightning Fields” closes out the A side in great fashion.
