i thought they mentioned 2005 specifically?

I don't believe so. The original story at the top mentions "being a feminist in 2015", which appears to be when it was written, but it doesn't seem to specify a time. The Killers have only played The Rave in Milwaukee in 2004 and 2009, and the Eagles Ballroom in 2017.

Looks like she’s saying there’s no deniability here. Damn, this is so gross.

this is terrible but I don't understand the timeline. how is this tied to the killers? also, I don't have twitter so I'm bad at it.

I hate every part of this, by the way.

Here's a screenshot of an alleged response from Dave via an Instagram DM.

Also, I think this post from Reddit is also interesting:
This is apparently about The Killers : TheKillers

The complicity part of the other members in the band this is what makes me nauseous. For one second, I'm relieved to read that Brandon & Ronnie were part of the "non-partiers" of the group, the fact that they could have had knowledge of this makes me so upset. I hate that things like this are so common in this industry.

So not the takeaway but I didn't know Brandon was a Mormon.

Even if not directly involved there’s virtually no way Brandon/Ronnie/rest of the band didn’t know this was happening. Just absolutely disgusting. Fuck.

She seems to allude to the fact that she’s referring to members of the touring band, not the actual band, here.

But yeah, if they were aware of any of this I’m so beyond disappointed.

So gross. My fandom hangs in the balance currently and will ultimately be determined by how they respond to this. If there's silence, goodbye. If they flat out deny and undermine the accuser as Dave seems to be doing, goodbye.

i don't necessarily take Dave's reply to be undermining anything, but, he surely could have used better wording. calling it "pure bullshit" and still acknowledging it might well have actually happened, is bad.

"confidently tell you that this is pure bullshit"
"if there is any truth to it..."
"...may have been done without our knowledge"

all very contradictory sentiments - should have put a little more thought into the reply.

I think Dave’s reaction is based out of the insinuation that he and two other members of the core band were involved/had knowledge of a gang rape. Though it’s since been more or less directed at members of their touring band and crew, I still think he could have worded it way better.

The band will definitely put out a statement, but I’m not holding my breath for it to be quality. They’re infamously bad at PR.

The Killers did not play with additional musicians on tour in 2009. They do now, but in 2009 they performed with just the four core members.

That’s not true. Off the top of my head, Ray Suen was on stage with them.

    Edit: video.

My bad. I checked a clip from Live at Royal Hall (When You Were Young specifically) before making that comment and did not see anyone on stage besides the four main members

In 2009?!?! I don’t ever recall seeing them have additional musicians until AFTER Battle Born. They currently have around 7-8 on stage (including backup singers) but I don’t see that in 2009

They did have four touring members during Day and Age. Specifically remember one of them committing suicide.

They had Tommy Marth (since passed), Ray Suen, Rob Whited, and Bobby Lee Parker in 2009.

Sorry guys if I was incorrect, I looked up several live clips from 2009 before commenting (Royal Albert Hall, T in the Park, and Rock am Ring - all major performances) and didn’t see additional touring members. Upon further looking, I see some instances of 1 or 2 additional musicians on stage pop in for certain songs. My fault.

No worries! A lot of those guys just popped in for a few songs, or were buried behind equipment. They usually weren’t in the spotlight in video footage, haha.
