I don't like how lots of items and spells aren't explained well, I mean it's trial and error but it's hard to even remember what is attack spells and what are just debuffs and shit. It's just like 'you learned GRE' and thats all you know. I figured you would like the art style at least, very colorful.
I'm about 10 hours into Breath of Fire 4. The combo system and the ability to switch characters from the back line into the front really keeps battles interesting. I'm not very good at playing for hours at a time, I may get an hour or so in every day. Also I suck at fishing. Also also I hate fishing in RPGS..
I actually picked this up because of all the hype on here. Also because I can't stick to one game at a time for the life of me. Just played the hide and seek game with the kids in that one town. Game is fun, I haven't gotten a hang of the combo system yet though.
I need to finish FFXV so I can play Nier: Automata so I can return it to @Fucking Dustin . Then I need to get around to finally finishing games I started years ago and never finished such as FFVI, FFVII, FFX, FFXII, Chrono Trigger, Ocarina, and Majora's Mask. Then I have other games I have sitting around that I've never played like Lightning Returns, FFX2, FFXII Revenent Wings, Ni No Kuni, Eternal Sonata, Persona 3 I think, Dragon Quest VIII, Ys: Oath in Felghana, etc etc Basically I'm very bad at committing to and finishing games.
Damn kids. There was one that was impossible to find because he could not be seen (the one on the stairs). The combo system is great - the only thing is that I found out that it doesn't always connect. Like, it has a random success rate which is kind of annoying. At that point in the game, using Burn immediately followed by Nina's Sever spell is a potent a combo (Firewind). That's quite a backlog! Seems like most of us are bad at finishing games lol
Yeah as a kid I would play games sporadically and end up moving on to something else. Then in my 20s I had a bad habit of buying games on sale and never getting around to them
Anyone have a recommendation for the best way to play Chrono Trigger? Planning to play it for the first time soon. I have the Final Fantasy Chronicles PS1 port but I've heard that it's borderline unplayable due to horrible load times.
Thanks! Don't own a DS unfortunately. Looks like the PC version is actually a port of the Android version, interestingly enough.
The PC version is better now that its been patched. They restored the graphics a little more faithfully to the original and fixed the menus a bit. The initial release basically still had the obtrusive touch screen menus which were just awful. The DS version was great, in part, because the menus were on the second screen. Play it however you can. It's one of the all time greats.
This list is not to be trusted and is all over the place. The fact that they put Fire Emblem Fates on there instead of Awakening is downright laughable. Dark Souls is an action-RPG. It's a strange classification. It's only an RPG because of the character creation and progression systems. There was actually a large argument about this in the comments section at IGN, but Zelda is an action-adventure game, not an action-RPG.
Haha sorry if I seemed really rude. It was supposed to be tongue in cheek, but tone is hard to convey sometimes. I apologize.
Side quests grinding and exploring I guess. It’s a great game, but I need to finish it to move on to other games. What are you playing right now JRPG wise?
I got BOF 4 goin. Kingdom Hearts I'm at the end game. Started Vagrant Story but still need to dive in.
