I’ll start it tomorrow. I played some of it on a ps1 demo disk as a kid and thought it was cool as shit, don’t know why I never played the full game. I was just worried it might be janky. Some of the gameplay, the camera especially, looks rough.
As long as you use a guide for the sewers and have a patience for 3D platforming, Xenogears is worth it.
Xenoblade 3!!!!! Lets goooo! Wow, can't believe it's almost here! I'm pretty far into Triangle Strategy and I'm hoping I finish it before the release. What a shitshow the special edition was for XB3 though... It doesn't even have much.... What a weird time we're in.
Triangle Strategy my GOTY at this point, did 3/4 endings so far. Just started FF9 for the first time since 2013 last night, already so into it
Tri Strat is good but I got locked into a story choice I didn't want to do and that really took me out of it. I know the point is multiple playthroughs but I dislike games where you can't get the good ending on the first playthrough
I feel similar on games with multiple story paths. For me it’s knowing that I just don’t have time for repeat play throughs. Not sure if I’m on the good or bad story path, but I’m loving the game. It’s definitely the best SRPG in a long time.
Yeah I didn't follow a guide at all my first try though. Little did I know I was on the path to the best ending until I accidentally burned a village down lol
Nice! I really enjoyed 2 and put a lot of hours into it. The original is my all time favorite game and I was planning on trying to replay it, but then the news of XB3's release date being moved up changed that. I have purposely not really looked into much about the game to keep the excitement up. It looks to be a lot more like the original and XBX though.
It seems like there is a lot of fan service from the past ones too which is awesome, that is just speculation though.
lol there's an option to always start the battle in Trance Mode and an option to always do 9999 damage in the FF9 remaster the fast forward and no encounters options are such a nice addition
all JRPG ports/remasters should be required to have fast-forward / god mode options tbh just replayed FFXII Zodiac Age and the fast-forward option actually makes that game playable and kind of fun
This conversation takes me back to my Game Genie/Pro Action Replay days where I wouldn't play an RPG without Infinite Gold or Fast EXP. Fuck challenge, just show me a good time.
Yall Xenoblade Chronicles 3 comes out tomorrow. It has been said by many reviewers that it is a great time to jump into the franchise. I've also read a handful of reviewers who didn't like XC2 but really love this one. Apparently the combat system is very intuitive. Plus a great story and gigantic beautiful world. Everyone buy it and play it tomorrow.
I'll buy it and play it in six months to a year probably XC2 really killed my interest in the series and even now I feel a bit turned off by the art style
Yeah I get it, i'm someone who disliked XC2 the first TWO times I tried it, third time though I was so familiar with the combat that it clicked and I loved it. Like I said, from what i have seen, a lot of detractors from 2 are really liking 3.
Just finally started XC3 and I can already tell that this is going be incredible. Love the XB1 vibes. I did finish Triangle Strategy and as much as I truly believe it is one of the best SRPGs ever, I'm a bit disappointed with the ending. I chose the Frederika path and I just think the ending was really rushed. Seemed like a cheap final battle too without much excitement. The one at the Source was more engaging TBH. Serenoa dying didn't feel right, he already gave up so much on this path and that just doesn't add up... Would love to say I'd go back and play the other paths but it's doubtful for now. Anyone else play that path?
Also... Some of the choices were almost too rigid. I mean, it just never felt like any option was really the "right" choice and you almost want to go full blown villain in some circumstances, but you can't. Next time around, I hope they go that direction. Could be really cool if you had the opportunity to betray one of your characters in a battle and watch that play out.
yeah that was my issue with tri strat. I don't like games that force you to get bad endings before you get good ones, especially is they force you to replay the whole game again nier is the exception I guess
