Suikoden fans might be interested to know that someone apparently finally localized Genso Suikoden: Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki for the PSP as Suikoden: Woven Web Of The Centuries. I don't really have time to play around with it to give a personal opinion, but here's some screenshots. And no, this isn't an official localization; this is an emulator/rom/patch type dealie, just to be clear.
Speaking of JRPGs, what's everyone playing? Currently I have the following going: Atelier Ayesha Plus Trails in the Sky SC Also doing a replay of Zelda Oracle of Seasons.
I'm not playing anything right now that would be considered a JRPG, but I did take advantage of Square Enix's recent sale to purchase their Steam versions of Romancing Saga 2, Romancing Saga 3, Secret Of Mana, Trials Of Mana, Lost Sphear, and Octopath Traveler. As for what I am playing, I am still working on Eastward and doing what I can in Guardian Tales via Bluestacks, after which I'm not sure what my plans are. I have options. I guess this is also a place to mention that via Bluestacks, there are also five other mobile games that I cycle through daily: Princess Connect Re:Dive, Illusion Connect, Danmachi: Memoria Freese, Date A Live: Spirit Pledge, and the recently released Konosuba: Fantastic Days.
Damn you went hard on that sale. Octopath and Trials are two of my favorite recent JRPGs, especially the former
I probably shouldn't have gone all in like that, but I routinely make poor spending decisions, and on the bright side, while I may be poor financially, I'm rich in adventure.
So, this is only tangential to JRPGs, but some people might be interested to know that fans have finally fully translated the PSP game Ys vs. Sora no Kiseki: Alternative Saga as Ys vs. Trails In The Sky: Alternative Saga. I say tangential because it's not a JRPG, but a fighting game of sorts featuring characters from across the Ys and Legend of Heroes series. Here's a trailer!
Yeah I keep meaning to grab this for my Vita. Looks awesome. I also need to jump back onto Cold Steel 3
Instead of getting sucked into the Trails series I accidentally on purpose got sucked into the Atelier series I've finished 4 of them so far, but I think now I'm gonna take a slight break from them. Really need to clamp down on Trails SC. I'm on the 2nd disc, about 33 hours in.
For those interested, today the Nintendo DS RPG Luminous Arc 3: Eyes was fully translated into English. It's a tactical RPG series; the first two games were also on DS and released in the States by Atlus. The third remained behind because from what I remember, it was between that and Etrian Odyssey 3, and the latter won. Anyway, I loved the first two games so I'm sure to enjoy this, and hopefully others will too.
I think I have the first two emulated on my modded 2DS, they're part of my massive backlog. I'm still knee deep in Atelier and I'm in the final dungeon of Trails SC
Finally finished Trails SC, clocked in around 64 hours. I haven't touched my Switch in awhile, I have a few choices for that: 1. Another Three Houses run, haven't played the Blue Lions path yet 2. Continuing Atelier Lulua (only played the first hour or so just to see what it plays like) 3. Start Valkyria Chronicles (bought in a sale awhile ago and haven't started it) 4. Pick something else up, I have a $50 gift card for the eShop.
I am looking for a good JRPG for the Switch. Wanting to play Ryza 2, but I’m really wanting something more traditional. I still haven’t finished Arise lol. Game just really picked story wise so I’ll probably be playing more in the coming weeks.
Dragon Quest 11, Trials of Mana, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Octopath Traveler are all ones I've sunk time into. Plenty of remasters as well like Valkyria Chronicles, Star Ocean First Departure, and all the FF classics
Thanks for the recommendations. I love DQ11. Finished it on PS4. Wasn’t a fan of trials of mana or octopath. Couldn’t get into them and I should probably consider a second chance. Love the Fire Emblem games and haven’t played one in awhile. I’ll check it out. VC is one of my all time favorite games. I like the newest sequel and sank a good amount of time into it. Still need to finish it at some point. Not sure if I played first departure. Will check it out as well. Played all the FF titles, but I was considering replaying 9.
