Finally got to see this yesterday! I knew it was a tragic story, but didnt want to go down the rabbit hole of what exactly the story was. Im happy I didnt, this was certainly a tragic one. Not sure I would want to see it again though. Great performances.
Finally got around to watching this. Got super choked up as soon as I saw JAW walking on his own two bare feet leaving the house. That entire scene. Man...
Just had this on and was kind if half-watching it as I was sitting here grading, paying enough attention that I was emotionally invested and etc. And fuck man that last scene hit hard when he said he used to be a brother and the kids saying they'll be his brother. My brother died almost 8 years ago now, really hit home. Especially because I could totally imagine my son saying that to me lol
This movie may have not gotten award recognition, but I do love that this might be one of the most popular non-horror films that A24 has done. In terms of A24's recent push into mass appeal stuff I hear people talking about it a lot, even moreso than like Civil War.
