Apparently the book is much better but that’s none of my business

 

I liked the BOS&S film more than both of the mockingjay films

 

TBOSAS was solid. Rachel was the best part, maybe Viola too.

 

The middle part of Songbirds with the actual games was kind of whatever, but the first and last thirds easily made up for it, imo.

I haven’t revisited most since they came out, but the one I remember liking the most is still the first Mockingjay. And I think my least favorite is the first movie, which was still good enough for me at the time to look forward to a sequel.

Hm, maybe the actual games are my least favorite part of these movies, lol. Though Catching Fire had the most fun with the spectacle of it all.

 

My hot take is that Rachel wasn’t very good.

I don’t. I think she gives off theater kid vibes in the worst way possible. She has to let you know she’s ACTING acting.

 

I saw this exactly once two years ago, so I cannot be expected to remember specifics. But, my vague recollection is that her character was compelling, and that she embodied said character very well.

I also tend to think that a certain level of theater kid energy can be fun for the right kind of entertainer in the right kind of context. Sometimes theatricality or whatever is kinda the point.

 

Her theater kid energy works a+ in west side story and presumably in the actual theater she’s doing now but I kinda agree it hasn’t really worked in the stuff in between

she rules though and grim should be careful

 

I said she wasn’t very good in this! I didn’t say anything else about her in other things! I thought she was fun in Y2K I movie I enjoyed and most people didn’t! Different opinions are good!

I think I said this earlier, but pretty sure she's supposed to have "theater kid energy" in this role because her character is more or less what a theater kid in this world would have been? haha

Lines up with the epilogue of the book. I imagine Woody Harrelson is back too
