Just remembered the 5th book releases in a couple weeks. This will be the first time I read one of the books before the film adaptation.

Just finished reading sunrise on the reaping. Idk how Collins did it, but this is definitely the most depressing and morbid book out of the series.

    I do not exist.

I finished it last week. Possibly my favourite since the first book of the original series.

I’d put it right below the first and catching fire, and high above mockingjay and songbirds. Some of the deaths in this book have me wondering how they’ll fit in a PG13 film lol, especially Ampert’s and Wellie’s deaths. I really hate what happened to Lenore as well. This is probably the most heinous we’ve seen Snow in the whole series.

About halfway through the book and I REALLY like it. Been a while since I read the original series (been meaning to change that), but I'm pretty sure I like it more than the first and third books. The Lou Lou thing is some truly devious work from Snow

Finished it. Snow deserved SO much worse than he got in Mockingjay

Solid castings so far. Really like Plemons as Plutarch

I wonder if Jennifer, Woody, and Josh will reprise their roles for the epilogue chapter

It would be a nice touch wouldn’t it? The crowd would go wild for it.

That’s odd. I don’t remember Wiress even being mentioned in the book

She's not only mentioned, but is a character in the book.

In Sunrise on the Reaping? I honestly can’t remember a single time I read her name. Those books have some bonker names so unless it’s a significant character or repeated name I won’t remember half of them

Damn I was hoping they'd go Keifer haha

I finally finished reading the original series. Definitely written like a YA novel in the way it kinda hand waved details and such at times, but I enjoyed it. Having seen the movies first, it was interesting to see some of the changes they made. I would say most of the changes they made for the better, especially some character choices like Finnick, and having Effie around in the last two movies, and I liked Plutarch more too. But the movies were definitely a bit more confusing than the books in terms of the whole secret plot thing. Not that I needed everything spelled out but the books give you a lot more context for what's going on and being inside Katniss' head obviously makes that easier too.

Gonna start Ballad soon. I have not watched that movie yet.
