This looks pretty damn creepy for a kids movie. Interesting to see Eli Roth go for it. I'm in.

 

Well this is tonally different for Eli.

 

Not a Roth fan, but this looks like a lot of fun

 

Some bad kid acting, editing, etc aside, this was cute and fun — some genuinely creepy parts, had a good time.

 

Anyone see the Imax version with 3D Thriller playing before it?

 

Glad this opened above expectations in the US, more than deserves it.

 

Saw it Saturday night with my nephew, definitely exceeded expectations. Obviously not a perfect film but I think it is a good/cute movie geared toward older children.

this was the perfect Jack Black role, I thought of Tenacious D every time he mentioned demons haha, I'm pretty sure he also hummed the Bach song the D sample in Rock Your Socks
I wish Cate Blanchett was better used but her just being there is delightful, it was weird how many jokes there were about her being old when her and JB are the same age irl

 

This was a blast! Kind of reminded me of The Haunted Mansion or Goosebump, super weird and dark and fun. I love stuff that reminds me of what made me love Halloween in the first place.

 

This was really good! Felt like classic 80s/90s kids horror comedy with some Vincent Price or Haunted Mansion mixed in

Also the mean kid looks like Ted Cruz, feel bad for him haha
