First interlude is beautiful, and you all weren't kidding about two deliverances huh? This is one of my favorite hotelier songs and it's only halfway through
god I love goodness pt 2... it's just so powerful.. also I don't think that its as weird as I originally thought.. those minor second guitars are actually in the key and they are also in time its just syncopated
Just finished first listen, and yeah, definitely awesome. On first listen Goodness Pt. 2, Sun and End of Reel stand out for me. I really want the lyrics.
First time through - I already like Goodness Part 2 more than any of the songs released prior to the album...good start.
Opening Mail is probably my favorite on first listen but a lot to love here. Probably gonna take a few listens for it to really hit me but those are the best kind of albums imo.
I get a huge REM feel from Piano - but I still feel like the vocal is too buried or the drums are too loud for their own good.
I listened once, and while it's not an immediate album, I can't stop thinking about it and singing/humming various parts. "Soft Animal" is still my early favorite, but I think it might be because of when and where I first heard it. I can't wait to give this some more, and much closer, listens. I'm really looking forward to a 47-minute walk with my dog through the park near my house tomorrow or this weekend.
it definitely was not easy to comprehend at parts because of that. i guess i need to unschool myself.
interesting that some people have said this album is more of a grower than Home... i think both pretty much floored me on first listen.
yea man, I can't believe how cohesive this feels.. The slightly slower tempo of settle the scar is going to take me a few listens to get used to.
It took me like a year to get into Home and I'm not really sure why. This one I instantly like, but there's a lot to digest.
