i remember thinking i would like the follow up to OTIP more than Home (after hearing it). funny how things worked out.
Just finished it, from "Two Deliverances" on it's fucking amazing, haven't been able to get into Goodness Pt. 2 yet, but I'm sure that will change. Overall this album is great and I'm so happy they went in this direction after "Home" I don't think I could have taken another album in that sound. This is exactly what I needed to hear right now. "End of Reel" is such a great closer to the album.
also part of what makes this album both really special and frustrating to me is that it really requires you to be in an un-anxious state to fully appreciate it. not sure if this is true for everyone else tho
end of reel feels more like a closer to the INGO/Home/Goodness journey than a closer to goodness itself imo
I like it more looking at it like that. That, "Sun" and the beginning of "Goodness 2" are the ones that still need to grow on me. I'm glad I can finally listen to it over and over again and hopefully they will.
christian, sam, chris, jade cody was in this band circa-INGO but then left after doing Home, then ben was in this band was circa-Home but left after doing goodness
Love this album so far. Still hate the album cover, and that's the main reason I haven't bought it on vinyl yet.
YOU AND ME TWIN FIRING MACHINES SPENDING ALL OUR ENERGYYYYYY love that line so much. it reminds me of 'twin high maintenance machines' from this year
Yeah End of Reel is going to destroy me someday. Probably all of these songs will. The only reason it isn't today is because I'm still riding on the high of finally being able to hear this.
Yeah, there's this weird reaction people have to jump all over someone like that, presumably to prove how comfortable they themselves are with it.
I can't really place why, but this album reminds me a lot of the sonic nature of I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child. This didn't hit me anywhere like Home did on first listen (or like ILAVLAC did), but I'm definitely enjoying what I've heard.
