i cant believe this hasn't leaked considering how long some people have had it.

 

im shocked it hasnt leaked either but at the same time I'm not since its much easier to prevent leaks now. The fact that streams are sent out instead of mp3s or actual files helps, plus its much easier to trace where leaks came from.

Found out last weekend that I'm not writing a review so I just kind of stopped listening to the album because I feel guilty

But its ok I've got The Cure to keep me occupied. Btw that "Doing The Unstuck" cover is so great

 

Where are you writing these days?

 

I remember the week the album was announced and someone asked for a leak lol

 

I was going to write one for SputnikMusic since they really liked my Pinegrove review but then they were like "nvm Adam is going to write it I think" oh well. I still like writing for Sputnik despite how awwwwwwful the community can be

 

If I was smart I would've started reviewing albums in February when they announced this so I could get an advance lol

 

I'll probably still write something on my blog and if yall want you can humor me and read it. I have a lot of thoughts on this album.

"Piano Player" is still my favorite song, though I hesitate to call it the best song.

 

I can totally see this getting BNM. Regardless, their spot on the Pitchfork Fest lineup is arguably just as significant.

 

I've been sitting on It Never Goes Out for almost a year now... Going to listen to this tomorrow to ease the wait for Goodness.

I get new Hotelier tomorrow and you don't! Muhahahhahahaha

Here's a question no one's asking: who cares one bit if it gets BNM?

 

people want their tastes validated somehow

 

or people are happy for a band they love when they're being positively received by the general public / when the music world has lots of good things to say about them....

 

I think it's just knowing that other people will read those reviews and check out bands that get good reviews, leading to that band's fanbase growing. I enjoy watching the bands I like gain the success they deserve.

 

BNM is so arbitrary though. It's one publication, and they can still get a very favorable review without getting BNM.

 

I want other people's tastes to be validated by my good taste

I did haha. I checked up with Will at the end of last month and he said he would get it to me 2-3 weeks before release. I was really hoping to have it before I leave for tour tomorrow.
