I've listened a couple of times and I didn't mind clicking at all but I probably won't listen any more until I have a version I can just put on. I like it a lot though although theres definitely parts of it, mostly the less straightforward sections, that I think will take time to really grow on me. I'm really looking forward to having the lyrics though because listening to "Soft Animal" with the lyrics was so much better than without.
I'm shocked no ones ripped it sooner but honestly I'm not sure on the specifications that go into doing something like that.
I only got through Goodness Pt. 2 because of how much I felt I needed to listen to that song in particular. Holy so fucking good though jesus christ this band is so unbelievable
I notified the band last night and they didn't respond. Here's a thought. The band did it intentionally to silence critics about the mix of the record... Figure people can hear the whole thing but there is no way they can have it. Maybe Juno has some real good software that makes it impossible to rip from them.. Who knows. I've never heard of them until now.
Hmmm...I don't think that's the case. I could be wrong, but my guess is the band has contacted Juno about taking the clips down and doesn't want to bring attention to it until then. There's almost certainly a way to rip the files, but I'm not sure that many people have realized that the full songs can be played outside of this thread. And my hope is that it stays that way and the clips get taken down for the band's sake.
ayo pls don't mischaracterize me, i was not bragging about having the Sioux Falls record (and I don't really "brag" about having streams, when I have them I just want everyone else in the world to be able to hear the record so we can ALL talk about it) and was majorly bummed out that 1) I didn't like the record 2) ppl here didn't like the review I wrote so I felt like I had to clarify. I agree the discussion it generated was super positive
Ahhhh fuck. Holding tears in my eyes after first listen. They're back....and I couldn't be happier. Ottobar, here I come! haha
I'm not going to listen to the clips either. I already sort of regret listening to "Piano Player" and now, "Soft Animal" as much as I have.
Don't want to make any hasty judgments, but on first couple listens I really wasn't into any of these songs. I'm heavily drawn to great vocal melodies, and this doesn't seem to have a lot of those imo. I think Two Deliverances was the only song I kinda liked. I dunno, hopefully reading lyrics will help me appreciate this more as a whole.
i listened to the whole album. tight album yup. the chorus in soft animal has a really damn good vocal haha
Sun, settle the scar, two deliverences, you in this light, soft animal, opening mail for grandma, goodness pt 2, all have great melodies imo. But I guess to each his own. All I know is I listened to clips of these songs usually a melody and a chorus and they were all in my head after one time. Also I have a live video of sun that I probably listened to more than I should admit
I think there's a ton of really immediately great vocal melodies on here like pretty much all of "Soft Animal", "Settle the Scar" or "You in This Light" but I think a lot of the album has more subtle choices in terms of melody which is why I can't wait to get more listens in and start to absorb these songs.
