sorry for being a total narc guys but I did tweet the band about the album stream. I have a sense that is not the type of thing the band wishes to exist lol .
'Sun' hits me really personally. As said by Christian in an interview, the song portrays this imagery of the sun and how it expels energy and light but doesn't absorb anything. In my life I have always been the person to joke and try and fix everyone else's problems. People expect me to always be happy and cheer them up; being depressed would be the last thing on anyone's mind. When you look at the sun you only see the positive but deep down on the inside something isn't right. I find it hard to take anyone's help and it feels alone not feeling like anything can bring you happiness. The search for catharsis is a thing that keeps me going day in, day out and this song just hits that point and makes me feel like it's all alright.
Yeah, I really don't either. Although, it ends the same way as Goodness 2 with the drum hits, so that's gotta mean something.
man i almost can't believe how much better the soundcloud stream of Soft Animal sounds compared to the version i've been listening to. way better instrument separation, un-muddy guitar and bass, and so many details that were p much impossible to make out before. listening to it feels like the song is coming to life.
Are you guys just clicking the samples every 25 seconds or has someone actually put them together and "leaked" the whole thing?
I've listened to it twice all the way through by clicking a new spot in the sample every 30 seconds. I truly don't mind it because I'm listening so intently to make out the lyrics that I'm not doing anything else while I listen. I'm literally just staring at my computer screen for the entirety of the album, haha. There aren't many albums I would tolerate this process for but shit, this is good.
I really don't think I can bring myself to listen to this until it officially releases. I want my first experience with the album to be special, and clicking through a bunch of stitched together song clips every 30 seconds is not at all what I had in mind.
As much as I want to hear this yesterday, I'm in the same place. Few bands if any mean more to me than this and this is not how I want to hear Goodness for the first time haha
I just don't want to do the clicking. If someone stitches it together and it's reasonably well done I will have no will power to hold off listening.
For me, it's really not that big a deal to click every 30 seconds or so. The album is absolutely worth it and it doesn't take away from the listening experience to me at all. I'll say this: this album is everything I wanted it to be and I hope you all love it like I'm loving it.
