When the last note of "Goodness pt II" snare hit and the lights immediately cut to the Home backdrop? I'll probably never forget that.
chills we didn't get the backdrop in Austin though Christian mentioned that they usually do things different but I guess the venue couldn't pull it off for them
Foxing's post Albatross set was amazing. Dallas got Nite Ratz Club for the Hotelier Encore. Was surprised they played Weathered in the warm up set, did not expect that. Glitterer is great but watching Ned's energy made me crave a Title Fight reunion even more.
I have been getting into a lot of 4th wave classics that I only casually checked out a decade ago and must say I was kinda shocked that Mobo and Title Fight have literally 10 times more monthly listeners on spotify than Hotelier and The World Is... at the time I was pretty far removed but it sure felt like the latter bands were just as big and got more acclaim/coverage in a lot of spaces.
Title Fight is definitely insanely popular. Even people I wouldn’t expect to even know them are fans. It’s pretty crazy honestly
That tour was so much fun. Both bands came through Richmond all the time for a few years and I miss it. We got Soft Animal and Sun in Carrboro and it was incredible. So glad I could see this tour and hope they decide to do some more.
I think the surprise was that they were so much more popular than The Hotelier. Like 1.2 to 1.6 million monthly listens v Hotelier 140k (when Hotelier are touring no less). We're there any other 4th wave bands that transcended to that level of popularity? I recall reading that Peripheral Vision sold a crazy amount but Turnover are at 600k monthly (still very good).
