Yep, I passed up going out to DeKalb to see The Hotelier on what was ultimately their last tour before these and have been kicking myself for years now. This is all a bonus to see one of the most important bands to me when I was in my mid-20s.
I went to Superheaven and yeah its actually a really cool room, it should be perfect for this show. I know there was the initial complaints with the slowdive show but I had no issues when I was there
Here’s a relevant quote from this recent interview Christian did. “I mean, when it comes to making music, performing music or just being myself as an artist, I take that as seriously as I take anything and I have fans that look up to the work I make and I don’t want to let them down. I want to surprise them. I want to show them that I still got it. You know what I mean? And I feel like everything will go on the back burner when I start buckling down for music stuff.” Not a promise for new music but maybe a little sliver of hope
Anyone need a ticket for the Detroit show tonight? Got a friend that can’t make it and I’ll just sell it for face value. Fyi it is a will call ticket
As someone who has been into this band for 8-9 years, I feel dumb for not realizing they had an EP before INGO. If anyone out there is a dum-dum like me, here's some really old Hotelier you may not have heard. Not as great as what was to come, but you can see the glimpses:
They’ve basically totally scrubbed it from the internet. They’ve got at least one other ep too but it’s pretty bad honesty. That one is cool cause southern discomfort got partially reworked into discomfort revisited
Oh yeah, I totally hear that now. Actually, I'm pretty sure I'd come across Southern Discomfort years ago and just thought it was a demo. But the rest of these are new for me. Planning on seeing them in Asheville in February. Already getting my pre-game on hah.
That’s the only release they had before it never goes out unless you’re thinking of this two song demo
They were truly so damn good last night. I love Foxing but I would have been really mad if they closed for sure Perfect setlist, sounded awesome. Really hope they keep doing the thing
Is there a way to tell who is closing? I know it’s been talked about in here but I can’t remember an answer. I’ll call the box office day of for Philly but just curious
