Had never listened before but that was a great pod. Would love to hear them go into Goodness as well. Guessing that might win for its year, unless they want to share the bands featured around.
yeah there was def some pretty cool insights from Christian on it...like hearing what he had in mind for the album thematically and him talking about learning about Daoist beliefs and how he took those into Goodness fully fleshed out.
Not great that they're even considering doing Moose Blood, Tiny Moving Parts, and Into It. Over It. Anyway I voted for Integrity Blues
I don't follow this closely but loved the Home episode. Do we know what won for 2015 yet? Hoping Harmlessness.
Are they not on Tiny Engines anymore? They aren't listed on the "Artists" section on Tiny Engines website.
Really fucked up how people alphabetize names or titles beginning with "The" under the letter "T" still
So how do we handle that comment Stevie (Adult Mom) made today about Christian being the worst person ever? There’s obviously something that has been going on but we don’t know any details. Is this something to potentially stop supporting The Hotelier over?
Didn’t see that. I assume it was meant then about his somewhat defensive tweet about TE. Blaming incompetence or them being oblivious rather than being shady.
Well, Stevie said Christian is one of the worst people they’ve met in the industry, not the worst person ever. I mean it’s not a good look but it’s not quite the same thing. Stevie mentions they believe Christian is complicit so it sounds like they’re referring to business stuff. Just speculation on my part. I don’t think I’d jump to no longer supporting The Hotelier when we have zero information other than Stevie not liking Christian.
Agreed that is a huge stretch. In interviews Christian seems thoughtful but somewhat defiant and definitely self-confident. He's not afraid to shit on other bands etc. I can see him having strong opinions and sticking by them, and others not liking him in the process. It would have been easy for him to stay out of this whole situation and not get burned but he wanted to say his 2c and that reflects his personality, which I don't mind at all. It also opened him up to criticism.
This might be a weird ask but did anyone download the Facebook live these guys done before the album came out? Went back in the thread and tried to find it but it doesn't exist anymore. Can see a few people said they saved it but just wondering? Really want to watch it again.
The band played a house show in Atlanta last night, and they did a Q&A afterwards. Someone asked Christian what sparks creativity for him and his response was “the reason I don’t write music anymore is because I don’t do drugs and you lose that creative bone at times. I love playing and being around the culture but I have lost a lot of new ideas." So, I guess we are not getting an album anytime soon.
