a woman who is not a day shy of 75 has firmly erected her lawn chair directly in the center of the pit area and this is the most respect and admiration ive ever felt for a person

this is really the only free thing to do in Troy so its 90 percent blind walkup, for context. half the people i saw who i thought would be here for Hotelier wound up being the opening bands lol

 

wish i could see hotelier for free then get some dinosaur bbq

I went to Troy once for a Thursday (the band) show. Good times.

 

good time! i would say there were a good 40-50 people there that were prior fans and it was a lot of fun. but they played as a three piece, how long has that been a thing? is Ben gone? it seemed to limit their arsenal a bit, they said they played every song they're able to play as a three piece or something along those lines. here's what we got:

 

they also played Opening Mail for My Grandmother. this guy kept shouting for it and Christian said they couldn't play it, but a while later Chris thumbsed up it

 

Goodness pt 1. Almost forgot it existed!

 

How do people play an hour and a half set, i get a hand cramp after 20 minutes, especially with power chords

 

I think Ben is filling in for Rozwell Kid right now. I guess The Hotelier has been doing guitar by committee for a while and nobody else was available.

 

Can’t believe they played title track. Great setlist

 

How do you think the people that went for “something to get out of the house” took to their set? Specifically “Life in Drag”

 

That is pretty much the perfect Hotelier setlist.

 

That's the kind of song which, if not properly prepared, can knock one from their garden chair

 

overall pretty positive from what i could gather but most anyone who was there casually was further back

 

Feels like I've haven't seen them live in so long

 

A+ set, damn
