They're both part of the Epoch collective (along with Florist, Eskimeaux, Small Wonder...). Different sounds but very similar mentalities and approaches to music and life as a whole
I admittedly don't know these two very well, but Told Slant's new record I bet is going to be a big step up as every other Epoch band has done. If you haven't listened to Eskimeux or Florist's most recent ones get on that now. All these bands share members but each project is basically each member's individual project
So sad that tour isn't hittin my neck of the woods. Wish I could afford to make a big drive to see it! All of y'all just need to have double the fun for me at your showstoppers Edit: I don't know how the typo showstoppers happened but I'm gonna keep it because lol
i've only heard that "Still Water" album from Told Slant and wasn't too impressed by it. haven't heard Loone at all (which i think is Alyssa Kai's project)
Casey sometimes I feel like youre the guru of that scene of bands. I just thought you should know that.
It's funny because most of my friends were on these bands long before I was, I feel like the late arriver to this scene haha. Told Slant played the radio station in like 2013 with Sam Ray, hah. But yeah, east coast DIY music is so fantastic, I've been saying for a better part of a year it's basically where emo was in 2010 but probably better music. These bands make up what will be the next royalty of indie rock
i dont think im going to watch the second half guys... its going to take every ounce of self control i can call upon. the first half was unreal. just amazing.
