i think when @Zac Djamoos interviewed them, they said that they had originally planned to live-stream the album before it came out, but it didn't look good or sound good so they scrapped it, lol
Can a person still get this LP? Or is it long sold out? This band just continues to skyrocket for me in terms of personal importance. Also, does Christian actually say "cringe" on "End of Reel" and it's just buried in the mid or is it some kind of implied thing? Because I see it in the lyrics but it's absolutely inaudible to me even with my nice headphones.
Catch the 7/4 part of life in drag? I like those time signature things they do. Also end of reel ends in 5/4
How do you even catch/count time signatures lol shit is wild, like witch craft. Knew there was a reason I liked their sense of rhythm, didn't know that was why ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i hadn't thought about that until recently as well in my head at least, if you count the beats in the verse, they group as 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2, before it starts over. sorta as if there's a beat missing at the end.
!!!! so it's addition?? I always thought you were able to like actually count it out as in going 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 etc etc but obviously it makes sense to count them in smaller groups because written out it'd be separated and organized into bars? i'm a moron wow thank you. is it 11/4 because it's "missing" that beat at the end and therefore couldn't be cleanly organized as 3/4? is this a dumb question? srry
it actually can be written as either. 11/4 would be a pain to read ha, FireBreather by Thrice does the same thing and they have actually called it 11/4.. you could look at it as a measure of 6 and then a measure of 5 too, there really isn't a wrong way
I have a masters degree in music performance, I once played a piece that changed time every two/three measures. Leo Brouwer writes insane time signatures for classical guitar
