I am not sure why we're still speculating the band is breaking up

 

I agree that Goodness was as good as a next move they could have done

 

I mean, one passing comment is not really a big deal and it just seemed like a personal aside more than anything

yeah, I wouldn't have hated that political punk record but I definitely wouldn't have loved it as much as Goodness. I think a band expanding their sonic pallette is more interesting most times

Put on Goodness while I was cleaning up my garage. Was a euphoric experience. It's been too long.

 

I listened to one Emperor X song and it sounded like Mountain Goats: C-SPAN Edition

there's also a full emperor x set that has christian playing guitar for the first 15 minutes or so

 

idk where comparing something to c-span doesn't come off as a slight unless it's like "wow, this is better than c-span!" or maybe "at least it's not c-span!" but at least, like c-span, emperor x is v informative. i love silver linings

another silver lining: i just remembered Bellows puts on an incredible live show. it's hard to make someone give a shit about songs they don't know, and bellows did that in spades when I saw them with the hotelier and told slant

 

I was trying to say that they sound like John and co. but with a much more intense focus on politics in the lyrics, and I should have gone with that instead of trying to be funny!

 

The Hotelier is good, Emperor X is good, C-Span is good, The Mountain Goats are good, Bellows is good, Cherrywaves' jokes are good, CWhit is good (sometimes), this thread is good.
