I mean, one passing comment is not really a big deal and it just seemed like a personal aside more than anything yeah, I wouldn't have hated that political punk record but I definitely wouldn't have loved it as much as Goodness. I think a band expanding their sonic pallette is more interesting most times
also i guarantee christian would consider the new bellows record and everything emperor x has done better than any record he's put out

that version of defiance ahhhh there's also a full emperor x set that has christian playing guitar for the first 15 minutes or so
idk where comparing something to c-span doesn't come off as a slight unless it's like "wow, this is better than c-span!" or maybe "at least it's not c-span!" but at least, like c-span, emperor x is v informative. i love silver linings
another silver lining: i just remembered Bellows puts on an incredible live show. it's hard to make someone give a shit about songs they don't know, and bellows did that in spades when I saw them with the hotelier and told slant
I was trying to say that they sound like John and co. but with a much more intense focus on politics in the lyrics, and I should have gone with that instead of trying to be funny!
